I wouldn't mind Veal's going up...and it had to say Veal and not Scalabrine.

I like VC, but he didn't do a 10th for the franchise that Kidd did.

Credit for the sig goes to FreeKobe.

Re: Our Former Players
I have to vote Rex Walters on this one, he's the forgotten white guy.

Kidd did more for the Nets but I have to say I'm more thankful for Vince.

Really? After a few years with Marbury after the few years with Jayson Williams after the few years with Derrick Coleman after the few years with the late was going to be somebody Drazen...Kidd was a blessing.
Then again, Vince came in for peanuts when we played guys like Aaron Williams, Ron Mercer, Rodney Buford, Travis Best, Jacque Vaughn...um...Jabari Smith, Zoran...

Re: Our Former Players
Honestly if you had to pick from the 3, it's Kidd. Hands down, no reason to think twice. He is the most important player in Nets history with the exception of Dr. J.
I think at least Kidd and Carter get their jerseys retired though. VC broke all types of records in our building. RJ might have his # up there as well, but I think the jury might be out on him.
I was saying in the other thread though, that depending how long VC is a member of the Magic and if they win a title, he might have his jersey retired fo 3 seperate franchises.
I'm not sure that has ever happened in NBA history.

I spent like 5 minutes with that sentence half-written trying to remember the word I wanted to use. Grateful. What I wanted to say was that I feel more grateful towards Vince. In terms of meaning to the fans, its never gonna be about just basketball. I feel like Vince was more straightforward and tried to fit himself to the team instead of demanding that the team fit around him. Basically I didn't appreciate the Jason Kidd drama.
Also no need to diss the double nickel.

The Raptors sure as hell aren't retiring that jersey.

BS.
The hate is way overblown and it's only like 25% of the fanbase that even dislikes him still.
With absolutely no overemphasis, he is basically the reason that there is still a NBA team located in Canada, instead of there being the St. Louis Spirit or the Las Vegas Raptors or, you know what I mean and there isn't a bit of exaggeration to that statement.
A group of fans might hold a lot against him, but the franchise surely appreciates him.

If the Raptors don't retire Vince's # that franchise will never have any respectability among the NBA community...

Whether we ever retire his number or not I have no idea. I'll leave that to managment to decide. But at least we have fans that come to the games unlike your sad fanbase.
Consider this a warning. Don't ever post garbage like this here again.

I wonder if we can strike gold with the raptors and trade peanuts for their best player again

Where do you sneak off to in Air Canada Centre to perform pregame fluffing on Chris Bosh?
Does Bustnani join in, or does he just hold the camera?
