First, Lopez said he worked out with Yi Jianlian and Sean Williams Sean Williams . So there were questions about Yi, who is going to have to play a big role - and actually, produce in the role, not just fill it - if the Nets are to avoid playoff elimination by Christmas. And there weren't a heckuva lot of questions about Sean who could supply an upset just by being on the team when the season starts.
So, Yi. Lopez said the 7-0 footer looks like he "polished" his game and was impressive with some post moves. Honest. He said that.
"Yi's been playing a lot stronger. Looks like he's polished up a lot of stuff. He still looks like he's going well, even though he's playing basically year round," Lopez said. "He looks like he's in pretty good shape.
"He did a lot of one-on-one in the post. He was making some great moves, kind of caught me by surprise," Lopez added. "And of course he's got his jumper."
Of course. Well, Yi is the starting four again.

My concern is what this is going to do for his national team obligations... Hopefully the Chinese have learned from the Yao situation that their basketball players are robots who need some reprogramming, new parts and maintanence every now and then.
