I personally love drew gooden, but not so much for basketball reasons. He's just a goofball.

Granted he posts 12 and 8 for his career and has a money baseline jumper, but what drives me crazy about Gooden is he takes a quarter off each game, especially if he's coming off the bench. He'll be playing well, then in the matter of 3 minutes get 3 fouls and you just want to pull your hair out because he'll go tot he bench for the next quarter and a half. He's a solid player and a good teammate from what I read, but he can be very frustrating to watch from a fan perspective.

*Backs away*

I kind of want Hakim Warrick, but only if he's signed to a contract starting at no more than $5 mil a year and the Nets send out Najera as part of a package to Memphis in a S&T.

I love you?

I've been running my mouth about my love of Hakim Warrick for a few years now. Not as much as Trevor Ariza (who I have talked about his potential since he was on the Knicks), but I love this Hakim even if he's a combo forward.

He's 27 years old though, I always thought he was younger for some reason...

5 mill a year for Warrick would be a hideous contract. I wouldn't give him more then 10 mill over 3 years and that's a slight stretch. Thinking 3 years for 8 mill is just about right.
The days of the massive overpay are long gone, well, for the most part, see Hedo.

Looks like Ike is taken.

If Big Baby deal doesnt go through, who do we go after. Warrick might be gone if we wait too long.

^ Hopefully no one ^

I think these rumors about the Nets going after player X, Y, and Z are just being floated out there to give the appearance that the Nets are doing something this offseason. In reality the Nets are just spinning their wheels trying to get a clearer view of what the future holds for the franchise.

I personally think they're shopping 1 or 2 players for a trade exemption or a draft pick. If they can clear 2-3 mill, I could see them doing what they did with Magloire and just landing an almost desperate guy for circus peanuts.

This is basically what I've been thinking for awhile now.
I posted this almost same thing on NetsDaily, much to the chagrin of a certain moderator who is hellbent on getting Boozer.
Most other posters figured the same though, that we weren't likely to get anyone this offseason, especially someone expensive that cuts into the 2010 cap, although I'm starting to go back to my okd theory, that 2010 is a pipedream of sorts...
