Thank god. Now Raptors fans can stop including him in horribly one-sided deals.

P.S. Delfino sucks.

Ratner should move the Nets to Montreal. How many players are gonna get drunk and arrested at strip clubs during the season if that happened?

I don't care about the Nets taking New Jersey off of their jerseys, because at least they still go by the "New Jersey Nets." Its the Jets and Giants that need to get the "fu*k" out with that NY bs.

"The Nowhere Nets"
http://blog.nj.com/njv_editorial_page/2 ... _nets.html

Quicker than a slapshot, the Devils' full-color advertisement went up on a digital billboard towering over Interstate 78: "We proudly wear our state on our jerseys," the caption pronounced, the bold words running beneath a photo of the hockey team's NJ logo.

It's the latest gotcha in an intramural feud with the Nets, who continue to commit silly personal fouls against the state while playing in a decaying -- and competing -- arena the Devils want closed. But motives aside, the Nets deserved the dig.

It's not enough that the Nets keep insisting they're moving to Brooklyn (call us when a shovel actually scratches the dirt over there), but now the Nets are removing "New Jersey" from their road uniforms for the upcoming basketball season.

Basically, they're saying: "When we're in New Jersey, we'd rather be in Brooklyn, and when we're on the road, we don't want anyone to know we're still from New Jersey."

I actually think this is a witty marketing campaign. Counterproductive for the state, but witty nonetheless.

I'm really enjoying the biased media attention the Nets are getting up there. It's pretty laughable. We see zero articles either being unbiased or showing a logically fair argument of both sides of this issue as well as the Brooklyn issue all together.

Enough of my rant though, I think this speaks VOLUMES for the owner of the Devil's distaste for the Nets now. Again, call me a doubting Thomas but I REFUSE to believe there are possible ownership groups around like the mayor of Newark and other officials are saying. Besides the Devil's owner who has no backed off his interest (as well as appearing to not want to touch the Nets with a 50' pole), there has been no local ownership group openly stating they want to buy the team. Again, call me a dick for thinking state officials are full of crap, but I'm sorry this has dragged on for so long that you think potential owners names would have been dropped. They're flat out lying to the public to make them look like victims and they're just bitter they're losing money from the only permanent tennant at the IZOD.

On top of that now, with the Devils doing this, honestly this is TOTALLY gonna scare more "potential local investors" away from the Nets. Everyone on the planet knows the Nets have to get out of the IZOD, but with this new advertisement, investors will be scared this will significantly hurt any chance of striking up a partnership with the Devils to play at the ROCK.

It amazes me that no writer has mentioned how this could burn anyone who still hopes the Nets stay in Jersey. Oh wait, that isn't what the public wants to hear though. Are the Nets handling this situation pretty horribly? Oh most definitely. Their whole PR staff (all 3 of them) should not have jobs right now, but a) the jersey thing is blown out of proportion and b) this move by the Devils is doing more bad than good for the state of New Jersey.

Obviously this situation is just one big clusterf#*! now and Ratner has to go in my opinion, but seriously, if it's not Brooklyn, it's gonna be out of this region all together I assure you, especially now. Which would you rather have? It doesn't matter to me because I live in North Carolina now and am in Jersey 1-2 times a year. I'm just wondering which you guys would rather have happen because those are the only 2 options now?

As a diehard of both organizations I think that this speaks volumes about the Devils and their allegiance to New Jersey. I do however wish that Vanderbeek would just back off and welcome the Nets to Newark with open arms. I'm not exactly sure what the future holds for the Nets' franchise. As currently constructed, this team just isn't very attractive to any potential buyers. Yes we have a nice young core and a bright future, but that doesn't mean someone or some corporation is going to spend hundreds of millions to take control of it. To be honest, I'm worried. The Nets just may not be long for this area. Also, I highly doubt IZOD will close as it remains one of the most profitable arenas in the country, with or without the Devils as a tenant.

It's true. Just google it because I called BS initially too.

In March 2009 an article came out about the battle between the ROCK and IZOD. It said like "according to my grandmother (lie just too lazy to look again) the IZOD Center still was the 10 highest grossing arenas in the country in entertainment based revenues." Now does that factor in the Nets? No idea. When I hear entertainment I think bands, conventions, circus, etc, but the article didn't go into detail.

That includes the Nets, they are entertainment.
