SF Spot More Competitive Than We Thought!

Post#1 » by SOUP » Thu Oct 1, 2009 12:01 am

So we asked Devin Harris what the wing competition is like, and he gave his widest smile of the day:

“It’s nasty. It’s nasty,” Devo said. “Just watching, the two guys I can point out are Courtney and CDR -- it’s going to be a battle all year long. Those guys are really competitive. They do a lot of different things on the court, but obviously Terrence has a little bit of a bulldog in him, too.

Reading things like this is very encouraging.

harris - lee - CDR - yi - lopez
6thman: twill so you can plug him in at either position

I'm pretty sure Hayes will take over the SF spot. But I would love to see CDR start and be successful. Then have Thrill as our 6th man.

I think Lee and CDR are fighting for SG.

Twill is fighting for PT especially with FRANK'S F'ed up rotations.

I still say Hayes or Simmons starts in the beginning only to lose spot to TWill unless Twill is that good.

T.Will could look like Lebron James-lite in training camp, Frank still won't start him.

I'm almost 100% sure Lee will start on the SG spot.

Haha I was looking at that too. I have no clue where Bobby is right now, but I still believe he's gonna start day one. We have a couple tough games right at the start of the season, I don't think Frank is gonna throw our youngins to the lions quit yet, but I think Jarvis needs to stay on the 2nd unit initially to start the season or we'll have ZERO consistancy in scoring on that unit if Keyon isn't doing anything. I anticipate things will progress quickly but that's just my initial reaction. But I'm not an NBA coach so what do I know. If it's not Bobby it'll be CDR, but I'm still confident that Bobby will start game 1.

p.s. The hell do you want Qdoba for? Chipotle is so much better. Either way, you getting a $20 gift card is looking good right now.

wow $20 gift card, thats like 2 burritos and some nachos on the side. i could finally take my girl out to a quality dinner!!! but nah, chipotles good too but qdoba is more convenient for me to get to. the chipotle by me is the one in clifton commons that can fit like 3 people and always has a long line.

Starting line up in the begining of the season:

Harris
Lee (w/out a doubt)
Hayes
Battie (if Yi is still overseas, and Swat doesnt get the nod from Opie)
Lopez
6th: CDR
7th:Alston
8th:T.Will
9th: Swat
10th: Dooling

Harris
Lee
T.Will
Yi
Lopez
6th: CDR

10th: Battie

I'm hoping Najera gets traded...In addition to me being very hopeful and defaulting to the concensus that CDR is going to have a 6th man type of year...you know me, I'll believe it when I see it...I have no interest in numbers during the offseason and how well he is playing in practice (CDR should be working is butt off, thats what you do)...lets see consistency on the court for a full year game in and game out...limiting mistakes and making the right decisions on the floor...if he doesnt force things and can duplicate some of his better performaces from last year, again on a consistent basis, I will be pleasantly surprised...right now I'm nowhere near being sold...Once again I'm pulling for Swat and him getting on the right page with LF...If were talking defense, overall, he's the guy you want on the floor...

Is it funny that on our roster? I'm comfortable with everyone seeing the court? I don't know many teams that see their 13th guy and are like "hell yeah I love that guy!" I'm not saying we're good, but at least I LIKE every player on our roster for the most part. Some give me fits (see: Swat, Boone at times, Hassel) but I still like them.
