Whoops my bad man I didn't hear anything but it looks like he is playing, but I mean still against an elite defense like Cleveland's it's hard to imagine Yi having a good game.

Waive Yi? I think that would be a bad move, considering the Nets are in position to land John Wall and possibly Lebron James. The new Nets owner is a businessman and I'm sure he will try to market the Nets as much as he can.

I don't think Yi should start, but just being on the team and getting like 10 mins a game to gain the Chinese market will only be beneficial to the marketing.

Also according to Yi, he's been hurt

Yi Jianlian told reporters that he, too, will play Sunday, despite a balky shoulder and a sore back that his coach says have contributed to his poor production the last few weeks.

Earlier i gave Yi a D+.
I'm giving him a solid B.
Why? He is getting the Nets more ping pong balls for June.

Ian Eagle couldnt of said it any better the other night...Yi is just lost...nothing is easy...at this point, he's a non factor, especially when a he's considered a shooter and is shooting under 40%fgs...

and something else that I dont know if anyone has touched on...Who told Yi to stop shooting 3s? Its been a long time, so its not surprising...Obviously they want him driving the ball to the basket and playing closer to the rim...regardless of how bad this kid is shooting, he still has range...and he literally steps inside the line for 2, consistently...

Note: Yi is avging just under a block/game....consolation :-?

That doesn't make any sense. NO TEAM is gonna finish worse than us record wise. We could go .500 % the rest of the way and we'd still end up with the worse record.

More "L" means more ping pong balls.
More ping pong balls means more chance of landing the #1 draft pick.
Tanking all the way!

we have no better than 25% chance...go read the draft thread...More Ls doesnt mean more ping pong balls...like jeff said, no one will finish worse than us...

I give Yi an F. I would give him an F- but he gets points for risking injury to the biggest adam's apple in the history of modern civilization every single damn night he plays. :usa:

I dont blame you...he gets D from me...until the season is completely over, I cannot look at him as a failure yet...but thats just me not ready to admit his F season so far...mind blowing disgust would basically sum up my feelings as I watch each shot of his clanks off the rim...

In February he is shooting 31% from the field...and thats even with two games in Feb where he shot over 50% ...thats how bad his off days are...

My god... watching the raps game early in the first.. I've been meaning to comment on Yi for a bit, but this pushed me over the edge. I can't believe how much leaves at the rim. He just cannot finish LAYUPS or anything close to the basket. Just horrible misses. The drives are semi-decent, the shot selection is ok, the positioning is fine, he's getting good clearance with his arms over the defense. HE JUST CANNOT AIM the hook or the layup. It's just awful to watch.

I'm a little concerned about his purported injuries right now. If that's the case I think the physical fatigue from playing for the Chinese national team could very well keep Yi from ever reaching his potential.

He seems out of gas, and unlike other players who go through those spurs and then kick it into another gear Yi doesn't seem to have that other gear.

(It would be very helpful if Yi was able to take the summer off...)
I saw him on a stair machine during a game the other night...but no matter how many games he played, he had enough rest when he was off with injury...and if he cant build up his stamina to a NBA level, we're in serious trouble, because his physical strength was always an issue...I'm not saying his international play doesnt put him behind the 8 ball, but maybe his fitness level is just not where it needs to be, period...If he cant make the long haul, 82 games...the grind of back to backs and streches of 3 games in 5 days, ect...he's in NBA career is in jeopardy...
