As a Nets fan, I accept your consideration. No take backs.

The only problem is that a Griffin/#8 for Yi/#1 deal doesn't work under the CBA. The Nets could add in Humphries as long as they also add in a future pick as well, like the future GSW 1st.

Well, it wouldn't matter about the CBA since both teams have enough capspace to absorb the additional salary. Unless this is a way to get an additional asset from the Nets, and if so, you can take Humphries all you want. And, I might be the only one saying this, but the GSW 1st is yours. Its bound ot be a second round pick, anyway.

Actually, like I keep telling everyone, that GSW pick is very likely and almost certain to be a first rounder, with a solid shot at late lotto.
That said, in a trade like this I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker.

Wait, it's top 7 protected in 2012? I thought it was top ten protected. Well, in that case, it might actually be a lotto pick.

I was just saying that if there was a trade of draft picks on or before draft day, neither team would have cap space yet. If both teams could "draft for each other" then they could wait until July 1st for the deal to go through, when both teams would have cap space.

In that case, I would rather do this over any of the other ones:

Griffin/Rights to #8 for Rights to #1/future GSW 1st

That's true. As for the trade you proposed, I think I would do it. We sure up a hole at the four spot, while also getting another high lottery pick to perhaps get a shooter. Of course, there is a risk that A) Griffin will be injury proned, B) That John Wall will be the best pointguard in the league in five years, and C) That that GSW 1st will turn up to be a lottery pick.

Harris
Lee
T-Will
Griffin
Lopez

That's a strong lineup, and doesn't even include the 8th pick.
