OT: Malik Sealy 10 years gone...

Post#1 » by jerseyjac » Wed May 12, 2010 5:37 pm

guys, I was a big fan watching him at St John's...I've seen some articles trying to get KG to talk about this topic, this situation...the tragic death and how close he was with KG...

I remember being a little kid when Drazen was killed, being very upset...my mother telling me that these things happen...same situation different person, this time Malik...a true warrior on the floor and great person from St John's to the NBA...

A very tough pill for me to swallow, considering, he was probably one my favorite college players ever...

I havent researched recently, but this short docuementary finally put a stamp on Sealy, the person he was and the effect he had on KG's career...what a great tribute...a lot of respect goes out to KG going on camera with such a difficult topic to be interviewed on and how the pain was clearly present today from Malik's death...

Its crazy. I remember when the news came that he died, I was on the phone with a girl named Danielle; I was in 8th grade, she was in 7th, she was so hot. Now, she's married and if I recall has a child on the way. I can't believe its been ten years already. KG was such a kid back then, I can't even fathom how things would have been different for him if his good buddy Sealy didn't die.

Yeah, this was sad. I remember it as well. He was one of my favorite role players in the league.
I remember when he was drafted by the Pacers...

Yeah was sad when i heard the news. Hey it's never good when someone young leaves us. However will never forget reading the paper (yes it made the papers in australia) when Petro died. I was about 20. The sub headline said NBA star dies in car crash. I got goose bumps without even ready any further! something just told me it was someone I knew/loved/ followed.

Sorry to change this to Petro, No disrepect intended to malik.

I definitely remember hearing that news and was so saddened that someone from my hometown who made it into the NBA had died so young. I remember he was blossoming very well in Minnesota and at the time I was predicting he was going to be a borderline all star that next season. RIP Malik.
