I really dont buy this whole they will pair up stuff, so we'll see.

If we are able to bring in a second superstar...you seriously dont see how that would entice Lebron more than keeping Yi and Humphries around?

See...its not that the second star is the only piece to the puzzle. Knicks fans have nothing else to talk about as a recruiting leg up. I mean we can also offer NY. Us and the Bulls can offer far more supporting players. Heat have Wade already.

But...if we can add the second max player option...with selling the NY market, all the rook contracts and picks we still own the next few years....it will give us a serious leg up in the sales pitch. Do I think its the only way to get him? No...but absolutely...it would open eyes if we can pitch to two max guys or S&T to get the second. Knicks have to S&T with Lee....IF Lee is willing to go to the market of the second star. Like...would he go to Toronto if its Bosh?

Now, we could get "some" of the extra cap room. Humphries opts out....we are around 12-13 mil. What if you can sign Lee outright? If Lebron thought that was enough of an upgrade...it would also seriously dent the Knicks leverage....that is if Bosh as the example is dead set on getting his extra year and the 30mil. If that is the deal breaker...and now its Devin, Brook, Lee the rest of the rook contract talent...the picks in this draft...that's a lot of flexibility.

There are options here. But lets not be naive and think there isn't an angle to having the cap room for that second big name or the ability to S&t for that guy.

Its part of the puzzle.

I just cant imagine what kind of discussion that would go on in that kind of meeting.

Can you picture something like this. Lebron says, ok I got Bosh and we're gong to NY, Wade goes, K, i got Amare, we're going to the Heat. JJ then says, ohh come on, wtf was i even invited here? Is David Lee attending this meeting too? Is Lebron gonna be like, meh, dont wanna play with Bosh he is a pussy, i got David Lee in NJ instead. Is it really that much better to pair up with Joe Johnson/Dadiv Lee then lets say Derrick Rose. And why would these players want to create more superteams to contend with? They already have Boston and Orland in the East. Bunch of teams in the west. All the free agents aren't gonna sign with 1 team so where is the logic in meeting to pair up and have 3 extra great teams to complete with rather then whats already out there.

I'm just throwing things out, maybe there will be a meeting and maybe Lebron and Wade will sign for the same team. But it all sounds like make belief for now.

This.

As skeptical as I am about the ability to convince FAs to come here, "sacrificing" Yi, Humphries and lesser assets like pick #27 or CDR is a small price to pay for the chance (however small) at 2 MAX guys.

The real link...

They're all going to talk to each other. Also this is just the agents making sure no tampering charges can be filed.

In all the articles I linked, Wade was directly quoted saying they would talk and sit down together, it is not made up. Again, this is just the agent covering for them to make sure that they don't say further things they will regret in the media.
