Why Amar'e? You got D. Favors.

Hi, I'm just wondering why are the Nets trying to sign a big man like Amar'e since they just drafted a very good rookie in D. Favors?

There are 96 big men minutes to go around. Lopez would get 36 minutes at center, Favors would get the other 12 minutes. Amar'e would get 36 minutes at pf, Favors would get the other 12 minutes.

Favors: 24 minutes
Lopez: 36 minutes
Amar'e: 36 minutes.

Or other various minute totals that mirror the one above. I don't know if Favors will get above 24 minutes his rookie year, though, unless he really, truly explodes onto the scene.

And that';s just for now. A Devin/Favors package was rumored to be in play for a Danny Granger, for a Chris Paul during the draft. Having o many rookie contracts is one of the many reasons we think we can put together the best long term team around Lebron. We believe we can sign two big guys and trade for a third before its all done...and we have an owner with the cash to pay the luxury taxes once we get there.

Hopefully Lebron and his team see it too.
