Oh c'mon. Give him a break. Weren't you the first one to talk about rookies in the thread anyway?

I expect big things out of Lee and T-Will this year. I know Devin will bounce back and Lopez will take another step forward but if we are going to be in the race for the playoffs Lee and T-Will need to play big.

As for the question at hand, I like Petro to breakout maybe something like 13 and 8. That might be a little stretch maybe 10 and 7. Thats like double his averages for last year of 5 and 4.

Coaches tend to ive young payers chances early with minutes in various lineups. I think James will show enough potential, plus the need for minutes to adjust to NBA basketball early, that he will have a chance to play 30+ MPG.
With that in mind he is big, fast, athletic, and can shoot the ball. He has a chance for an impressive rookie season.
Also there may be some emphasis on making it appear as if we didn't draft 2 busts to casual fans. So since it doesn't seem like Favors will do anything significant, I would assume Jaes is the guy to get that chance.
Can never have enough shooting afterall.

No. A rookie by def can't brake out. Can a rookie win Mip?
Im pretty sure he meant better then last year.

Terrance Williams mip.

Derrick Favors could start. He is a real work horse. You guys have counted him out to soon.

The only way this team has a future is if Favors is very good to go along with Lopez. Plus as if right now how can they afford to not play Favors? Hump and Outlaw gonna get all the 4 minutes? No freaking way. Favors will earn his spot soon enough.
Did Avery give an estimate on when and if he will start?

I want to say TWill...but it seems to me....after reading Avery's comments about our players...that Outlaw is the guy he is going to justify signing and he has the SF spot all but locked up.

He said the other day...4 starters...

Devin
Lee
Outlaw
PF-?
Brook

He said that it could take until the all star break to get set with the starting unit and rotation..and that Morrow could challege for the 2. That Twill was absolutely NOT a 3....and that Outlaw was much more of a 3 than a 4 in his mind.

So add all of that up....Twill right now is the odd man out with Avery as I see it from his comments. A shame. Hopefully we can hold onto him until the season starts, and he comes in and blows everyone away with shot improvement. I do think teams are really intersted and if the right deal for a PF is there...we will take it.

He had great things to say about James....called him the best player in SL....and Favors he has said a couple of times...huge future...but not ready to start.
