Sorry but you're full of ****.

Mo Ager had ONE good game in Summer League. In his other 3 he was 3/11 9 pts, 3/4 6 pts, and 0-3 0 pts. So no, not fun and not fact. Mo Ager has been getting killed in Summer league like the scrub that he is.

Calm down. It's an inside joke.

2 AM NBATV has a replay of the NJ/Orlando Summer League game.

4AM is a replay of Favors 23 and 11 game against Boston.

Right now NJ/Philly is on, but it's late in the 4th.

1AM there's a replay of GTech vs. Ohio State on CBS College.

Had the DVR record the game against Boston since I missed it the first time around. Just about half time. As this half has progressed...you can see Favors confidence rising. As he did in the rest of the games....started out timid...unassuming. Like...the gentle giant type on a football field who doesnt quite yet realize he can destroy everyone on the field the second he gets pissed off.

Still his fair share of mistakes on D....mostly footwork. Where should I be stuff...much of it....the type of stuff you learn in college rotations designed to force your man to one side. Some of it....senseless challenges or bluffs at steals he isnt going to make. Gravitates too far from the paint at times...have seen this in several of the games.

Rebounding....my impression is not so much about the frequency...but the way he rebounds. My lord he adds that 20 pounds of muscle the Nets keep talking about...and this is a force to be reckoned with. That...and of course resolving the where should I be issue. He gets off his feet so effortlessly...squares up and inhales the ball. Doesnt just get fingertips on the ball...he swallows it when he is in range of a rebound.

Offensively...continues to show a comofort with that baby hook shot, left and right. That is nice. His midrange shot is NBA ugly. He can make it...but its slow developing and when its off...its WAY off. Will take time. But seems to me right now...it throws off his confidence on misses rather than using it as a heat check or to create space for himself. Right now....would be happy to see less of those.

As I said....right before half and that two handed dunk looks just nasty on the 52". Watching on Youtube doesnt do it justice. It was just thunderous. And it was a good thing too because Slave threw down a couple of jams already that were Favors fault for being out of position. So...it was a nice give back...in your face move.

Most impressive thing I saw him do...was something simple. He made a turn and go lay up on the right side that showed that type of confidence and muscle you want from an NBA big man. That move that in this league says....most of the time you either score or get fouled or both.

He scquared up...no hesitation, went right at the hoop and didnt fade away at all. Easy to just dismiss it as a layup....bt it was more. it was the first thing I saw that was truly NBA hoops from him.

Passing the ball...is another story. He is unselfish...dont get me wrong. Doesnt force it....didnt see one shot that he took that I felt he shouldnt take....despite some ugly misses. He makes clean crisp passes back out but does it with the college "pop it" sweeping move you are taught to do as you are executing some clock killing eveyone touch it thing you are basically taught to lose at this level. He does it often. NBA you start to see those quick compact passes where a quick score is a good score. its OK to hold an extra second and hit the cutter. Has to add that. Right now....as I said...willing passer.....but needs to learn how to read the D and understand the difference in the NBA game to the college game when he is facing the basket.

Overall? Raw yes....but way more to work with than say the ugly offense of Kmart when he came into the NBA. His frame is just massive in height, length, and width. HArd to believe this is a 19 year old. And with that frame how effortlessly he gets off his feet. He isnt fast end to end....but he is quick off his move and getting off the ground.

He figures out that he is the strongest kid in class and adds the muscle on top of what he already has...and he is going to be very hard to stop. I think this is a kid who could make improvements in leaps and bounds if he is given room for error. If he is given encoragement to just keep going strong even when he screws up. With confidence I feel like Iam watching someone who could reward you.

Now...without confidence? He could become a supreme bust. ONly fair to say that as well. Onto the second half....

Ha! He had 17/5 at the hald ended with 23/11.

Sat a lot in the second half. Early third big lead other guys were highlighted more than him. I think he had 1 fg.

That fg was actually impressive though. He grabbed an offensive rebound off someone else miss. And he took this one down in extreme traffic. No tip...just went up and inhaled it in a sea of hands.

Missed on the put back....again in traffic.... but followd his miss with a quick grab and scored. The teancity of his play really impressed me. Just stayed with it.

HAd a couple of other really nice rebounds in the half....and late in the game did a great job of going strong, outing it on the floor to draw the foul. He was clearly TRYING to draw it...and that I liked. Always step on of two for NBA bigs...can you draw calls late in games...and then can you make the ft's. He did here...lets see it in the regular season.

Did a better job staying in position int he second half on D....but still...a work in progress.

Worst thing he did in the second half...set up in the low blocks...and he realized that the man with the ball didnt have the angle so he came out to meet the ball as you should. So...he turned around on the wing about 18 feet out with just about a clear out. Showed the half circle fake, one step pivot like he was going to impress us by putting it on the floor to drive around his man for the big dunk of lay up plus a foul. But....he shot the ball after the fake from now closer to baseline...and put up an air ball. Worse than being an airball from there it was SHORT not long. This speaks to range. 90% of baseline shots rebound long not short. At first thought...it was tipped? No such luck. Just didnt have any mustard on the hot dog...a bad, ugly shot.

Overall...saw tons of skill, and extrme athleticism This isnt a Thabeet level project...but its a project. As I said before...he gets some basics, gets confidence to go strong, and adds the mass...he can be a force. But...far from a lock.

MAke no mistake...Rather have gotten Evan Turner or Wall...but after those two...yeah...I am convinced we rolled the dice on the right guy. And I say as a Cuse fan (Wes), and having seen 3 of Cousins games where he put up better overall SL stats. Factoring in all things good and bad for each guy...stil glad we took Favors.

thanks for recap for me, who doesn't have nbatv.

Here's yahoo paragraph about Favor's summer league
Derrick Favors(notes)

The third pick in the draft averaged just seven shots in the New Jersey Nets’ first four summer league games in Orlando because teammate Terrence Williams(notes) was busy hoisting away. Williams, the Nets’ second-year guard, averaged 19 shots a game.

When the Nets limited Williams to just four minutes in their finale, Favors went for 23 points and 11 rebounds while making 10 of his 17 shots. If the Nets could do it over, they might want to feature Favors a little more prominently.

Twill definitely effected the number of shot attempts Favors had in those games...but that isnt to say Twill did anything wrong. Look...unless someone says...FEED THAT guy...its going to be a guards league.

Favors made plenty of mistakes in those earlier games....so box scores in these things shouldnt be the end all be all for success and failure. You have to look at the little things. Cousins for example. MVP of Vegas...had big stats. But if you watched those games...you saw TONS of stuff that would have turned your stomach. And not justg learning curve stuff. Truly red flag issues. But...we have enough threads on Cousins as it is. I just wanted to try and give a fair assesment both good and bad on Favors. in SL.

What was the reason for posting that? To show bad defense?
