Glad we picked Favors and James-Cousins exhausted

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Mon Jul 19, 2010 1:04 am

You see Cousins? If games were 30 minutes and played once a week he would be a top 5 player but after 3 games the guy can't jump anymore or rebound and is shooting 24% from the field. he is the only 19 year old out there who is exhausted.
Favors struggled yes games 1-4 but Avery says play aggressive like you did in H.S. (which he got 28 and 14) and he gets ironically 28 points and 12 rebounds.
As for James is there anybody who was hands down better then James in the summer league games? I can't except for maybe Twill and that is pretty debatable.

You couldn't put this in the other Cousins thread?

He is def. tired, 6 games in 7 days! not sure wtf the coaching are trying to do with him. Who would have thought Cousins is gonna lead the summer league...IN MINUTES!!??? (im pretty sure that 6th game makes him the leader). I guess they want him to loose weight no joke.

Cousins did look like a shell after that TWolves game. Guess he needs to be conditioned.

Of Course hes tired...alot of these guys need more conditioning than others..they are playing against slightly better competition than before...but overall i loved watching these games....i especially like comparing the big men like Favors, Cousins, and Monroe....but this is why its the off season....if he wants it enough he'll get in shape...6 games in 7 days is pretty tough.....to be fair in comparison favors and cousins have had some up and down games...but if favors can continue to play like he did in highschool..then he better start for us opening night...btw..Monroe is more skilled than I thought

There is one other point to be made about Favors in SL games 1-4 and then game 5. While Twill was impressive...he was clearly out to do just that. I have the ball in my hands...watch what I can do.

When he is averging 20 fga's and Favors has what? 5? 7? per? Hard to show much of what you can do. Point is...he wasnt featured much. Game 5....Twill sat....Favors was given a chance to cut loose in that game.

Yeah, you're not going to play 6 games in 7 days in the NBA so he shouldn't have to be too worried about being that tired again. However, if he tells himself not to worry cuz it won't be that hard you could have a future Eddy Curry 2.0. Hopefully not though cuz I like Cousins.

^^^^ is anyone else totally confused by the point of this video? What was the creator trying to show other than HOW TERRIBLE TECH'S POINT GUARD IS. Ever single turn over was a result of the PG telegraphing a pass or trying to get the ball to Favors too late or not putting it in the correct spot at all.

I do find it amusing that the editor makes a note towards the end of the passiveness on a pick and roll when he disregards the previous 3 minutes of work where he Favors set very good picks and immediately tried to set up shop in the post.

Again, I'm confused as to why this video should concern me at all. Oh yeah wait...it doesn't.
