Should we sign Tracy McGrady?
I know it'll disrupt the development of Lee/Williams but if we want to make the playoffs I think we could with McGrady on the team if he comes back to at least a 18/5/6 form. I would only sign him if he worked out for us though and no more than 3 million 1 year deal.
PG: Devin Harris (19/7)
SG: Terrence Williams (15/6/5)
SF: Tracy McGrady (18/5/6)
PF: Derrick Favors (10/6)
C: Brook Lopez (20/9)
6th man: Outlaw (14/5)
Sound like a 8th seeded team?
Wet dream I know.

No to McGrady. He wants to go to a contender and we want a young team.

At least 3 of these following 5 things have to happen for the Nets to make the playoffs:
- Avery doing a great job coaching, not putting any young players in the doghouse unless they truly deserve it.
- Lopez becoming a true all star (20/9/2 blocks) type numbers
- Harris regaining his All Star form with less ballhogging (20/7)
- Favors having a solid rookie season (11/7/1.5 blocks)
- Terrence Williams breaking out or playing like he did towards the end of the season (15/7/6)
Very realistic , we'll just have to see how he season pans out.

What in the world makes you think that T-Mac can average close to 18-5-6?

He showed in New York his first game back from his big injury by scoring 26 that he can still be a scorer. I think with a full offseason of rest on his knee he can come back and still score.

I don't see your reasoning behind this and I think you're gettin a lil bit ahead of yaself....this doesn't help us at all..short term or long term...

So does that mean at the end of a double rainbow there are two pots of gold

He got a full off-season AND half the regular season of rest last year and all that got him enough energy to have 1 good game, you can't be serious about using that as a reason he could play well all season. If anything his play with the Knicks showed that he is finished.

Yes, and he showed in the rest of his games that he's lost nearly all that he had before. If he could go to spots on the floor and solely be a spot up shooter, he may still have a few years left. However, him as a primary or secondary option is a big no-no.

I'm talking about as a 3rd option behind Lopez and Harris.

Barf. Not even as a coach. He is washed up, and we are are developing team. Making the playoffs is not the priority even if he did have something left.
Competely uninterested.

If you cant understand that Tmac would only hurt the Nets, your perspective on this situation is skewed...the wrong way

Ok, I thought understanding that not having him as 1st or 2nd option would logically mean that he wouldn't be on the team. To put it plainly, he would not and should not be a 1-15 option on the Nets.
