I hope Devin continues to play this way. Brook needs to consult a shrink...

Credit the Nets non stars for pulling this out when the team was dead in the water.

As i've said all of last year and was scrutinized for it, Devin Harris is this teams best player, he is this teams leader, he will win only as many games as he will lead us too. It wont be many, but it sure as hell will be more then building around Puss Lopez is going to get us.

What turned this game around was Lopez sitting on the bench and us having 2 bigs that actually give a crap about hustle on defense. Favors and Humph. Humph is not even that good of a defender, but he cares and he will play hard till he falls as this game showed. Another thing i was right about, guys like him are winners, i cant believe some people here wanted him gone for cap space. I even forgive the 1/4 fts at the end, the whole team shot horrible fts, but iirc this guy played all 24 min of the second half, he was dead tired, you could see the heavy breathing and sweat coming off him during time outs, and that fruit cake Lopez leaning on to feel like he is part of the team effort.

Favors shot horrible but he tired hard which made all the difference. He needs to put those hook shots in, but its ok. Also give a lot of credit to Farmar for his defense as well. Morrow and Outlaw on the court at the same time wont give you defense, but 1 of them surrounded by 4 guys that are trying hard will. And Farmar did great. This is why i wanted Lee to stay here, because all the fan favorites like Lopez and Twitt DO NOT play defense, and that effects the other guys on the court with them.

Its also time to stop ragging on Harris defense. He gives effort, he is not gonna be a stopper, no pg is, but he plays hard unlike some other players. Also he has been the go to clutch guy for the Nets and while he has missed his share, he has also delivered. His offense and Morrow 3s kept gave us enough points and the team defense did the rest.

Credit the players, and credit Avery. I really dont blame him for any of the poor play so far this season, the guy is a solid coach, its not his fault that he was given a crap team. Bravo for him not going to Lopez once he realized how useless he is. Without offense, Brook might as well be benched because he is a liability.

Also, i'd like to say that even though i do not like Twitts game, we need him on this bench or we need to play Harris 48 min a game because these 2 are the only guys on the roster capable of running a play.

1 final thought on Lopez. That play where the Nets had 2 sec on the shot clock and the Nets called a time out. Lopez got the ball and just held it, then handed it to Harris. The guys brains is mush right now, he is not thinking, or overthinking everything. We laughed at Farmars shot at the end of the half, but this was so much worse.

Lopez has really surprised me...Don't remember him ever slumping like this for such a long stretch of games, which is likely to continue till Sat. because of Howard. I really liked that Avery kept him on the bench for most of the 4th..he needs to get his ish together.

Doesn't anyone remember some of the conversations we had about Brook's possible relationship with Avery during the summer, or some of the beat writers thoughts on it...

That Avery was a demanding coach that would push Brook to the breaking point and with Brook's weird, quirky personality and somewhat fragile psyche, it would either turn him into a beast or he would put up a wall and refuse to come out.

WTF? The games I saw at the rock in preseason, Brooke had nearly the first touch on offence every time. He was confident in his movements. The refs were giving him free throws. Well he was drawing contact and getting to the line. He would kick out to the wings. When ever we needed a bucket the ball went to him.

So what has happened? Please explain.

Cos was expecting a monster year for him.

Pls don't say it was Dwight.

Good win by the way

Hump it up and Facial Favors were awesome, 24/7 hustle to the muscle.

Imagine a whole 82 game season of experience for Favors and a busy summer working out after... BEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST!

And Brook can take his quirky personality and go **** himself. I'm 100% on the coaches side and i want Avery to push Brook until he either breaks or becomes the player most of you thought he was.

I dont want the bells and whistles of a scrub hiding behind his 20ppg while my team is a laughing stock of the league and our fans keep talking like we have a hall of famer at C. If he doesn't have what it takes then **** him, the sooner we know the better.

Disagree

Our best line up has been:

Harris
Famar/Twitt (if playing defense)
Morrow (if hitting 3s)
Favors
Humph

I like that lineup, but Morrow at at the 3 on defense is a liability. If Outlaw is playing well I'd rather have him at the 3, but if he isn't I guess Morrow can do.

Morrow was at the 3 at the end of last nights game (with Harris and Farmar), matched against Parker/Moon and it was when we played our best defense of the game. I'm telling you, when there are 4 guys on the floor playing defense, the 5th one will too, even if he isn't a good defender. Look at all the best defense teams in the league, they dont have 5 great defenders on the floor at all times, there is always a Matt Bonner, RJ, Eddie House, or Nate Robinson with them and they do just fine. Orl had JJ Redick looking like a legit defender at times.
