Trade for DeMarcus Cousins.

It's nice to see everyone commenting on this thread but we should clarify something first.

A blind person can see that the Nets need players at the 2 and 3 position. That goes without saying. The reason why I started the thread about the PF position is because while we all appreciate Hump's effort this season, very very few if any of us consider him as being our long term solution at PF, which thereby leaves us with a conundrum at the 4 this offseason.

Even though our 2 and 3 spots don't have great players at their respective positions, there are at least players in those positions. I hope you guys realize that when the season ends, we will have have no starting, back up, or third string PF on our entire roster! None at all (unless you want to count Outlaw as a backup PF or we give Wright a qualifying offer).

There's a great concern at the 2 and 3 position but strictly from a depth chart perspective, we need a PF in the offseason more than anything else. Knowing this info, what should we do to get a PF? Memphis wants to keep M.Gasol and Z-Bo and West hurt his FA stock big time with his injury and will most likely pick up his option. This leaves Hump as arguably the best PF FA pickup.

1) Do we sign him to be our starting PF? If so, he'll probably ask for starting PF money. If he doesn't, good for us in the short term but he's still only a stop gap PF.

2) I know that we draft late in the 1st round but do we try to draft a PF? (Probably not since Avery doesn't play rookies.)

3) Should we trade for a PF and if so, who?
I know this option is tough but I wanted to see who you guys think we could acquire if we went the trade route.

To be honest with you, I'd be fine with Humphries, but I question whether you can ever win anything with both of your big men being white dudes.

Get JR Smith can shoot, got to the whole with authority, play defense and shoot
Get Tyson Chandler
Get Wilson Chandler
Trade Lopez for Cousins

Cousins shows post up game against prime players like Gasol in only his first year. He's already a stud.

PG DWill, Farmar
SG JR Smith, Murrow
SF WChandler, DWright
PF Cousins, Humph
C TChandler, Petro

And forget about adding a 2nd star to this team? We'll be a 3/4 seed forever without any growth? Our team would be financially strapped, I'm not even sure we'd be able to extend DWill if we signed the 2 Chandler's, Hump, Wright, DWill. If Petro is a backup center still, we're screwed.

Btw, are you even a Nets fan lol?

Why would the Kings trade Cousins for Lopez? Cousins is already a better player, and he is stronger, a better passer and better rebounder, plus he can handle the ball extremely well for a big man. Lopez plays like a poor mans Bargnani.

Keep telling yourself that, besides nobody other than that "Nets fan" want Demarcus here anyway.
