He can't dribble, shoot, pass, and has a low BBIQ. I think he's already maxed out his potential and I simply cannot see the point in trading for him.
wow, thats just stilly. thats like saying you dont like Rashard lewis because he cant shoot from the outside.
Smith and Lebron james i believe were the only two non-gaurds in the top 35 in assist last year. His passing ability for a big is elite. and his dribbling ability at the 4 is pretty respectable as well.
This is one of the more poor statements to quote me about Josh Smith. I had other posts in other threads that we were much more extensive and had much greater statistical analysis of Josh Smith, especially when compared to Kmart in his prime with the Nets. You would have a more complete knowledge of why I said that if you look at other posts I made. But that's a lot of work and even if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't do it lol.
To be honest, I think you need to have the right team around Josh Smith in order to make it work. He really doesn't have post-defense skills so going against some of the better PFs in the league would be trouble. Actually, in one of my posts I made a chart of every single starting PF in the league, the number of games they played against Atlanta, and their stats against them. 85-90% of all the power forwards played as good or better than their average against Atlanta. While it's nice that he can run, it's all about executing and defending in the halfcourt set in the playoffs. That's also when we would play against the better PFs who have post moves. With Lopez and J-Smoove down there defending on the block, it wouldn't be a pretty sight.
