I like BK's draft history but like Thorn his history of re-signing players / signing free agents isn't pretty...

I'd like to reunite VC and T-MAC on vet min contracts with the Nets.Dump Petro and bring back Kristic to.

Brook/Kristic
Nene/Wright/Outlaw
VC/D.James/Outlaw
Morrow/T-MAC
D-WILL/Farmar/Gaines

VC ain't coming for the minimum and I want no part of T Mac.

I wouldn't mind the Nets signing T-mac to a vet min contract and I'd be ok with offering VC a liitle more money if its a one year deal.

I think VC is going to get something like 3 years for $12 million from a number of playoff teams, but I think he would be quite the savvy signing at that price.

If we dump Farmar and Petro in separate deals for decent players on expirings, we can resign the Hump for around $6 a year and we'll still have somewhere around $6 to $10 million depending on the cap in 2012, including Lopez cap hold, empty roster charges, the Lakers pick salary, our 2012 pick cap hold and a signing of around $4 million.

To me picking up some high priced vets, drafting well, making one smart signing and resigning Hump to a fair deal would be the best course of action, maybe even S&Ting Kris depending on the return and if he's asking for way too much money.

Dwight or no Dwight, you build a solid playoff team that should win 45 to 50 games for this season and if no Dwight, you go after someone in 2012 when there are some interesting names even if they're restricted.

Much better then blowing the $6 to $10 million on scrubs like Jeff Green and Wilson Chandler or overpaying a solid dude like Afflalolol or a tweener who should be coming off the bench like Thaddeus Young.

I also think we need to go hard after the Rockets 14th overall pick if they even give the inkling they want to move back.

To us, their 2012 pick is crappy, because of the protection, but for them, rebuild or not, if a really good trade comes up for them, maybe even a blockbuster like an extended Chris Paul close to the deadline, they can't ship their own pick out until something like literally 2016 or 2017.

Say something like their 2012 pick returned, the Lakers pick, $3 million and we straight absorb Brad Miller for them to clear some cap, save them some money to resign guys or just in general and it gets an old guy who they have no use for off the roster.

I think that's pretty good value.

But that's the direction I would be looking to go right now.
