Farmar was streaky. He put up some big assist numbers but his biggest deficiency is his lack of vision on the court.
He is well worth his contract. He's a solid defender who makes 2-3 very good defensive plays per game. While streaky, he's a pretty good shooter who is not afraid of taking (and making) big shots. Also does a pretty good job attacking the basket when he doesn't over dribble.
When over-extended he can get exposed but in the right role he can be a very good backup PG in this league. He's basically a young Derek Fisher. On a bad team he won't look like anything special but on a playoff caliber team he has the ability to make big plays in big games.
If he was a young Derek Fisher he would still be on the Lakers instead of Steve Blake.
We've seen him on a playoff caliber team.
He isn't really bad, but he's absolutely nothing special.
He's a decent backup on a close to league average contract.
There's probably a lot of teams that wouldn't mind having him, but there's probably few teams that would literally target him specifically opposed to going after many random backup guys who are comparable.
Probably worth a TPE or maybe a useful expiring, or lower level expiring and a 2nd round pick.
