What are your thoughts on CJ Miles?
A few articles came out today noting that the Jazz have not made a decision on whether they will pick up his option for next season. An article on Netsdaily mentioned the fact that when D-WIll was traded, Miles and D-Will joked that they would both play together on the Nets. While Miles has expressed the fact that he likes the Jazz, I'm pretty sure that we would be close to the top of his list of destinations to go if the Jazz declined. Miles is currently backing up Gordon Hayward for the Jazz. Miles made $3.7 million this year and his option next year would be for $3.7 million as well. If he came to the Nets, I doubt that he would get much of a pay increase.

Re: CJ Miles?
I could live with Miles on a Farmar style contract. He's a good bench player, instant offense, an okay slasher.
He averaged 16 and 4 as a starter (only 19 games) last year, but I wouldn't expect those numbers from him were he to start here.
I see him as more of a guard than a small forward but with him on the roster I'd feel pretty comfortable with the Nets SG rotation.

Btw, I know that some of you guys comment on stuff for NetsDaily. Could someone berate the guy who created the "Guess that mediocre player" fanpost because all of the stats that he posted for Outlaw and Miles are absolutely wrong and yet none of the commenters seem to notice it.
For example, he says Outlaw averaged 9.5ppg, 0.9apg, 3.5rpg, with a 13.6 PER while Miles averaged 8.3ppg, 1.3apg, 2.2rpg with a 12.1 PER.
Problem is none of those stats are right!
Outlaw actually averaged 9.2ppg, 1.0 apg, 4.0 rpg with a 8.80 PER while Miles averaged 12.8ppg, 1.7apg, 3.3 rpg with a 14.4 PER.
The OP tries to make the argument that Miles is worse and Outlaw is better when we all know the truth and have the stats to really prove it.

In order to improve, you need to find and pay real talent, not commit 4 mil a year and 25 MPG to utterly mediocre players like CJ Miles.
But yes, he's clearly better than Outlaw.

Watched quite a bit of CJ over the last few years and he would be a great fit for us, if we can get him at the right price. He showed glimpses of being a very dangerous offensive player, if he can put it together he would be perfect. He is only 24, so its definitely possible he still has room to grow. Again price is key with this guy, he seemed to really play well next to Dwill, so he isn't a bad option.

Miles can be really streaky but overall is a solid role player, still only 24 and DWill would love to have him brought over.
The ideal scenario would be that Utah exercise their team option year on Miles and so then trade Farmar to them or to a third team, although probably along with this year’s or a future 2nd rounder. A one year try-before-you-buy without committing further salary beyond 2012.

That would be ideal. Utah no longer has a backup PG so we would need to see what they do in the draft. If they take a PG, they won't need/want Farmar because they'd have Harris and their new PG draft pick.

There's a strong possibility that the Jazz will get their future PG in this draft. That could be Knight or Walker at 3 or even Fredette at 12. One scenario is they might actually want to move Harris and have a young veteran backup PG (who's won a ring or whatever) like Farmar to back up their draft PG. Another scenario if Utah keeps Harris and they still draft their future PG is to involve a third team that wants Farmar and could send give an equivalent role player or pick that Utah wants.

Re: CJ Miles?
I wouldn't mind him as I brought up the idea of him a while back but upon checking into him his shooting % is pretty low.
With solid numbers like 12ppg does that make him a chucker? I haven't watched enough to know.
I think he'd fit in nicely as a backup 2 to Morrow.
Is he really better then Sasha? How is his D cause if he is solid on D I'd take him for that alone.
