So Dirk is Kidd now? What kind of logic is that. Just because something happens to person A, does not mean it will happen to person B. Do you know how rare it is for a player like Kidd to still be playing? He set the record for the oldest player to start a Finals game.

And if you think that Kidd played a major role in winning the Finals, guys like Chandler, Terry, Barea, Marion and that tall guy guys who won the MVP all had better series than Kidd. Kidd's amazing numbers during the Finals 7.7ppg, 6.3apg, 3.5topg, and 38.9%FG% were just too much for the Heat to handle.

Don't get me wrong. We love Kidd but your connection of Kidd's longevity to Dirk's playing level at the age of 38 is skewed.

What does Dallas need Williams for when they have that one scrub, that uh shoot-first-second-and-third "point guard" on their roster, you know the one I'm talking about? I forget his name... He was hurt part of last year but was pretty much EXPOSED as nothing more than a C-rate prospect... Bubba? Roderick? Roderick Bubba? Mavs definitely don't need Deron on the Mavs with that guy waiting in the wings to dominate the league.

First Dirk has only missed 38 out of 1034 games . So he's not injury prone . Because of the Dirk plays he will still be playing at a high level 3 years from now.

As for Kidd you would being a New Jersey fan that what Kidd brings doesn't always show up in the stats. During the playoffs he took turns guarding the likes of Kobe and Lebron and still came up with big plays so yes Kidd was a huge contributor to the Championship.

Look.. this was a dumb idea in the first place. Sign and trade for an unrestricted FA while give up our 23 year old center (who we refused to trade for 'Melo earlier in the year).. Not to mention that the player we're getting is 6 years older, will be looking for a major pay day and is an inferior player to the one we're giving up. Think about it for a second.

He's a better scorer in every sense of the word. Low post, high post, 20 feet away, from the charity stripe and can actually create his own shot. He's a better passer (which says a lot), better shot blocker (that's right) gets fouled more and doesn't miss games because of injury.

Chandler is the better defender and rebounder.. that's it.

Points per shot
Chandler-1.84
Lopez-1.28

Field Goal %
Chandler-.654
Lopez-.492

Rebounds per 48 minutes
Chandler-16.1
Lopez-8.1

Don't get me wrong he's a great scorer. But is he keep that scoring up when you put other pieces around? His FG % is not that good for a center. And his rebounding numbers are terrible. But with that said he is good that why I wanted him in case Chandler leaves . But if I had a choice of who to sign I'm taking Chandler.

Tyson's FG% better be higher than Brook's he only receives a fraction of the defensive attention Lopez does...

Don't get me wrong Chandler is phenomenal on finishing spoon-fed lobs but he's a borderline liability at every other facet of scoring the basketball (can't post up, can't take anyone off the dribble, can't hit the jumper, can't bully his way to the line, etc.)

Maybe, maybe not.

A lot of teams have 2 20ppg scorers, it's just rare for both to be front court players.

Chandler wouldn't be a 20 point scorer on any NBA team no matter how many minutes he was given and how many shots he took.

we already have a starting center.
we don't need another, this would just be a stupid move by management.
