Predictions

Post#1 » by bobbyc » Wed Dec 21, 2011 2:11 am

Predict the 2011-2012 regular season record of this team with the current lineup. Don't bring in any players currently not on the Nets roster into the equation  . Also, keep in mind its 66 not an 82 game season. A 50 win team = 40 wins. .500 = 33. 12 wins= 9.6 wins.

Deron/ Gaines/ Farmar
Morrow/ Stevenson/ Brooks
James/ Shawne Williams/ Stevenson
Hump/ Shelden Williams/ Jordan Williams
Okur/ Lopez(health)/ Petro

31-35

DWill - 22 pts, 11 assist
Morrow - 17 pts 43% from 3
???? - no idea
Humphries - 10 pts, 451 rebounds
Lopez - 21 pts, 8.5 rebounds

I think with Morrow being the starter his scoring will increase and his % from 3 will remain stellar. Hopefully Lopez will be more aggressive and not be "lazy" as he pointed out. Humphries will still steal rebounds away though.

I think this team has a chance at the 8th seed. We have good depth now with all the signings and trades over the past week.

We are going to have a lot of motivated expiring contract players who are gonna try to get paid. Also, a lot of players are still trying to make a name for themselves Brooks, James, Shawne Williams.

Okur is a good fit next to Hump and Dwill so is Shawne Williams. Our 3 point shooting struggled last year, well not this year.

Dwill is going to put up monster numbers again. He has shooters around him, his assist numbers will be a career high. You can take that one to the bank.

35-31 Let's get this season started

8th seed, 6th seed if we get on a hot streak.

I guess a lot depends on how Okur performs for us. I don't have any worries about his shooting touch (did well in Turkey), I'm only concerned about his recovery from injury last season. This schedule will be very tough on him, especially with his back issues. Otherwise, I think that a Okur-Humphries front court is very solid, in terms of how well they fit together.

Oh man, I was basically on some 38-28 **** before the injury.

I'm going 27 and 39 now optimistically.
