Wow people honestly believe the for some reason popular misconception that Blake Griffin doesn't have skill?

Skill =/= having a jumpshot

Also, "he can only get better" doesn't apply to voting where potential doesn't matter.

Griffin has skill, just not a lot of it.

The fact that he has no range is kind of a big deal, because in a series like this one against the Spurs, when you're going up against a defender like Duncan and a coach like Pop, they're going to give the midrange jumper to Griffin and nothing else. Since he can't consistently hit that shot, he's going to struggle in this series imo. Also, this carries over to the FT line. There's really no excuse for him to shoot less than 70% from the FT line, let alone less than 60%.

He mainly scores by getting spoonfed by Paul, or with a couple of basic, nothing special post moves (ie, back you down, then run through the lane and take a running hook, or back you down, then spin move, pump fake, and if you fell for it, a dunk, if you didn't fall for it, pass it back out and a lot of time came off the shot clock).

If he's really going to take the next step to superstardom, he needs to develop a midrange jumper (including improving his FT%), and he needs to add more to his post arsenal.

This.

The entire point of this poll is ranking the NBA's top players Currently.

This isn't about potential or who you would start a franchise with or who might be better next season or 3 years from now.

NyCe can we end this and move on to 12? It's been open for 2 and a half seasons and LMA has had the lead the entire time and hit double digit votes late last night IIRC.

Sorry, I've been really busy the past few days, so I haven't had time to change it.

It's over now...LMA is the winner.
