Knicks/Nets rivalry

Why do the Net fans always seem to hate the Knicks so much?

Marketing, revenue, fans, etc. There is more to a rivalry than just on-court happenings. Plus, the Nets played the Knicks in the 2004 playoffs, where the Nets swept them.

Because they are close in proximity, in the same division, and their fans.

FYI, the op who just got suspended was playing hop-a-troll and you guys fell for it. He had a busy night. First he was on the Raptors board trying to get them to hate on other teams, then he jumped to the Knicks board to try to get them to hate the Raptors, and then he hopped here to try to get the Nets to hate the Knicks. Haven't kept track of if he's jumped elsewhere, so quite possible his next stop was onto another board to get them to hate the Nets. :D

We did meet in the playoffs in 2004

We swept them 4-0. Look at the stats, we barely broke a sweat against the Knicks that series.

Either way, the rivalry makes perfect sense. We all live in the same geographic area. Knicks have dominated the basketball pages whether they are good or bad in the area so Nets fans have a "little brother" complex. That's the truth with me at least. We DOMINATED the Knicks for a decade basically and now they're inflicting some payback. Karma will catch up with them though.

A lot of Knicks fans also don't know jack about sports. If you ever want a good laugh, go to their board and look at some of the comments those clowns make.

Same here, and I think most Nets fans feel that way. I've had mixed (mostly good) feelings on the move to BK, but the most positive thing about it for me is that the bigger stage gives the Nets potential to shed that image. If we make a statement immediately out of the gate, it could even easier to do.
