Kidd should still help them but a 3-year deal? Really?

Kidd's going to be 40 in 8 months...

Don't get too upset. Best thing to happen to the mavs is Kidd leaving. He's at the point where he doesn't even drive the ball and even has become turnover prone at points. I've watched every mavs game since he came back. He was insanely good when we first got him back. I was like holy crap no way this guy is 36. He's steadily dropped off and last year was a low point. He's really to the point he should retire.

Love him or hate him, he tried hard to win and put his money into it. I thought he made a good decision picking up Rick Carlyle. Sure they made some bad moves too, hindsight is 20 20. I don't knock Proky over Outlaw.

Now that they are in decline it's going to be interesting to see if he build it back into another contender.

The Mavs were a pathetic joke of a franchise, and Cuban turned that totally around. He threw money at the payroll. He threw money at facilities, coaching, etc. Then he got lucky in drafting Dirk, contended for a championship, and finally won one.

So Cuban has indeed accomplished a lot, even with the very dubious job he's done in his hands-on contributions to player personnel decisions.

Proky was approved to be an owner of the Nets on May 11, 2010.

Outlaw was signed on July 8, 2010.

I don't think Proky was scouting Outlaw less than 2 months into his ownership. Blame that move on Rod Thorn leaving a parting gift to us as he went to the Philly FO.

Mark has been the Dallas owner for a while now and he was directly involved with the high majority of deals that Dallas did. There's a big difference between the two.

^^The second picture in this post really epitomizes what the Mavs success was based on.

The Mavs were able to get Nowitzki and largely ride his coat tails because he was so great (and still is very very good) that Cuban could overspend for any mediocre player and Dirk would still have his team deep in the playoffs most years.

Now, why should Nets fans even care about Cuban, especially now that D-Will has re-signed with BKN? I have no idea.

In fact, I criticized Cuban for overspending and paying mediocre players recklessly because he could afford to do it under the old CBA (and now he can't), but we've officially begun doing the same thing with our team lol. If King is still able to get D12, we will give him major kudos but he took a very dangerous and risky route to get there.
