I had my hand on my forehead whenever Blatche went up against KG.

I know +/- isn't a great stat, but when it's this large it holds some weight.
Lopez: +21
D-Will: +15
Johnson: +11
Bogans: +9
Hump: +18
Starters played well, Avery and the bench did not.
Did MarShon not play much because they're bringing him back slow or coach's decision?

Re: GT#7: Boston @ Brooklyn - 11/15 - 8:00 on TNT
my guess is marshon was to be brought back slow or maybe not even at all if we continued to be up big but when the game got close he decided to try to get an offensive spark.
btw, anyone else notice that deron is absolutely awful at post entry passes?? he throws at least 2 away a game, whats up with that?

Re: GT#7: Boston @ Brooklyn - 11/15 - 8:00 on TNT
Just got back, great game, had a ton of fun.
We outplayed them every quarter except for the 3rd. I really wonder what Avery tells the team at halftime, because we ALWAYS come out playing like crap after halftime and either give away leads or let the game get away from us (every game except for the first Orlando game).
BTW, I have to agree that Rondo's absence is really being overstated...especially when you consider three things:
-Terry and Barbosa are much more dangerous scorers, and they both played really well tonight, so Rondo's absence wasn't all that missed...Rondo is overrated in general anyway, his inability to score consistently well makes him a borderline liability in the half court, who knows if the Celtics play as well as they do with him, especially when you consider how well Terry and Barbosa played in his absence?
-The Celtics are still a pretty good team without Rondo
-We played without Gerald Wallace, who would have not only helped to limit Pierce, but he would have forced different matchups out there...like people have said, that would have forced Lee/Terry to guard JJ, who would have most likely had a much better shooting night if that was the case
Bottom line: we played a good team, and we won, with Deron, Lopez, and JJ combining for 67 points, and all of them came up big down the stretch. It was an impressive win, especially when you consider how we bounced back after giving up the lead. That's the 2nd straight game we did that, which shows that we have some mental toughness. Yes, it also shows that our coach is an idiot, but it seems that our players can overcome that for the most part. People should stop trying to diminish the win as if it's just as unimpressive as our previous wins. I'm sure Kerr made it seem that way though.

After reading some Celtics fans opinions on the game...Yeah, they officially replace the Knicks and Heat as the delusional fanbase of the league.
Their acting like they had the game won when in reality they went up by 5, we adjusted and won. It's that simple, we beat them in all quarters aside from the 3rd. This is the same team that sets illegal picks and gets away with the most BS calls in the playoffs and they turn into whiny children over a damn regular season game lol
*Nets beat Boston in the preseason* Celtics fans: "Oh well, it's just preseason"
*Boston beats Nets* Celtics fans: "Knew they were awful, overrated"
Tonight: "Healthy Rondo & Even Officiating = win by 30"
Oh and by the way, the Celtics are 21-13 without Rondo, today's loss makes them 21-14.
I guess thats what happens when you act cocky and disrespect the other good teams in the conference and division. You can't take a loss without sounding like a childish moron.
Christmas can't come soon enough.

The only call where we were clearly favored was not calling a flagrant on Bogans. Other than that, officiating was pretty even.
The Celtics shot 25 FTs to our 28, and they were intentionally fouling at the end too (so were we, but we only did it on two plays). Both teams got a similar number of FT attempts, and both teams were aggressively attacking the basket, so the "unfair officiating" angle is ridiculous imo. And I remember one play when CJ tipped the ball from Lee, never really had possession, and grabbed it after crossing back over halfcourt, and it was called a backcourt violation. So we got "robbed" on a call too.

Ya, it's time for Avery to go. Too bad we missed out on my choice: Mike D'Antoni.
Mirza would be playing starting minutes every night with him. Maybe we can trade him and whatever else we have for Pau

that play looked worse from back angle, from the reverse angle(looking at barbosa's front side) you coudl se that bogans tied him up below the shoulders. barbosa stumbling and bogans holding him up after made it look like he grabbed him around the neck, but that didnt happen

^^^that was a good, clean hard foul to me. These players are sissies in this era, I for one am glad we have men that are willing to commit the hard foul to stop a score. He held the dude up for christ's sake.
I'm pleased with last night's victory, but the bench was fairly dreadful. The starters had me excited with the way they played offensively.
I have to say that I agree with Steve Kerr's analysis from last night: our starting line up looked a lot better with Bogans out there to space the floor, the spacing is non existent with Crash out there spotting up from three. What should the team do?
The last three games prior to this one have done this team a world of good, the chemistry is developing at a solid pace to the point where the talent is starting to trump Avery's coaching, the ball is moving so well. I love how Lopez is playing. Deron and Joe are a marvelous duo. Hump and Reggie are cleaning that glass at a ridiculous rate. It's imperative that the team gets Crash and Marshon going, that will put us in a solid position.
Let's keep winning the games that we should win. There are no excuses, not now, not ever. We have too much talent. We are in the top 4 in the conf in the standings and this is how we should remain from now until the end of the season.
Now the real test begins. The next 6 games will not be easy, and there will be some solid match ups ahead. We'll need an even better effort than we've seen in the last 4 games.

Once again, our coach has no idea of adjustments. Never once put in a plan on to counter what Boston was clearly going to take away which was rebounding and we ended up with poor offense and bad poessions due to his wonderful lineup of CJ, Stack, Childress, Evans, Blatche which couldn't score for anything....Oh did I mention Marshon was perfectly able to play until he used him for 3 minutes in the 3rd and we got to the free throw line. GO FIGURE.
4th quarter, he got scared and let everyone Iso all over the damn place until Joe made shots and Boston missed shots.
Conclusion: We look great once the other team collects their team and makes adjustments or a run. Then, Avery goes full (Please Use More Appropriate Word).
Don't be immature w/ your analogies...

Steve Kerr was killing Avery all night...the foul situation and why the hell Avery was ISOing JJ so much in the 4th instead of utilizing Deron more in the 4th...it was great to hear the same questions pop up on TNT's commentating that we have stated...
Good win, needed it as we head out on Cali road trip, finishing at home vs the Clippers...lets see what we are really made of...

Avery: poor rotations again. ignoring the trend in the game and not adjusting his lineups accordingly. against the t-wolve we were getting killed on the glass, and he has hump/evans glued to the bench. last night we couldnt buy a bucket in the 3rd and he sticks with CJ/Stack/childress/evans/blatche for extended minutes.
As far as intentionally fouling at the end. i actually liked the move. with a 3-4 point lead ill trade free throws with any team in the league. our starting 5, and moreso our FT shooting unit is as good as it gets, specifically when you look at late game splits.
Blatche: another game of dreadful efficency and poor decision making. although tonite i will put most of that on avery, as often when blatche was in, he was the only scoring option. It still boggles my mind they arent coaching him to be strictly a paint player on offense. when he is 12 feet and in and takes only 1 dribble, he is pretty good. but face up, 3 dribbles, 15 feet out he is the most inefficent player in the league and really kills you. dray has heart and wants to win. he really just needs a coach to stop him from being such a huge negative.
JJ: really frustrating. i dont really care if he struggles a bit or iso's too much. what bothers me is how many wide open 3's he misses. he was supposed to be automatic on open catch and shoot spot up 3's. hopefulyl its just a dry spell.
Lopez: pretty good. improving as far as bbiq on defense every game. a bit more active as well.
stack: love his competitiveness. and he hit a really bgi corner 3 to keep boston from getting some seperation.
great win. we couldnt afford to lose that game. glad to see us not fold late.

Re: GT#7: Boston @ Brooklyn - 11/15 - 8:00 on TNT
I thought they had the game in the bag until Boston tied it up at 97. Then I started to fret a little, waiting on Avery to blow it. However, they pulled it out for a solid win.
I was very disappointed in the shot selection late by C.J. Watson. I think he came down on 2 possessions and threw up consecutive bricks. Boston went down and scored on their end to draw it closer. Watson better not continue to try to be the hero. Drive to the basket dude just once, please!
Huge fan of Joe Johnson, have been since his days as a hog. He was very spotty last night with his shots, but still managed to score 18 points. That's pretty damn good for not having one of his better shooting nights.
I would like to see the bigz do a little better on the defensive boards and stop allowing 2nd chance points for the opponents.
Either way, I love them Nets, glad to see them beat Boston who is consistently in the mix of being a top team in the east.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about who we beat from who we didn't. This logic that NYK is legit at 6-0 but we aren't at 5-2 is baffling. But all will be right when we get on a roll and see the kneejerkers hop off and on the bandwagons.

really reflects poorly on this board when you have multiple people speculating that the celtics might actually be better without rondo. save you the suspense... they aren't.
i think we got the benefit of the whistle pretty much all night. thought pierce was fouled on several occasions, two very blatant ones involving JJ and Brook, that weren't called... thought we were given whistles on 3 straight iso possessions at the end of the 2nd, all of which resulted in FTs and were ticky tack at best... thought that foul on lee when he stole the ball at the end of the game was bull.
that said, we beat them comfortably if we had any kind of offense whatsoever. what we do can essentially be summed up as turn taking. we might be the only team in the NBA that will simply have the ball-handler wait for 7 seconds for a player to run around screens and then deliver the ball to him in a position which conveys no advantage. that pretty much describes exactly how we isolate deron and JJ every single time. when you think about it, there's no reason why deron and JJ shouldn't BOTH have an opportunity to attack their man WITHIN THE SAME POSSESSION. but that never happens in our offense. last night brook lopez scored on virtually every opportunity he was given... he can't be stopped when our guards penetrate and find him. but do we make any attempt to exploit that? nope. we iso JJ, who can't penetrate. pathetic how underutilized brook was last night, an utter failure of coaching and guard play. deron has been turned into a combo guard, i mean this guy barely resembles a great PG in any way at this point, and it's really sad to see. jj was just abysmal for nearly the entire game. no shot, missed a layup, couldn't penetrate, poor decisions all night. i'm glad we won, but that was painful to watch.

Nobody said that, we know they aren't but people including Cs fans need to quit pretending their some lottery team without him. They beat the Rose-less and Hinrich-less Bulls but you didn't see anybody discrediting that win. Things like that is what annoys the hell out of me.
Just call it a loss and a BK win and move on but people have to deflect credit.

No, they showed a different angle on TNT and it was a foul, Barbosa used his forearm to shove Deron out of bounds.

Again, we don't have an NBA coach. He's a D-league coach at best, he ran the same damn plays for 48 minutes (Deron comes off screen, shoots jumpers), the Cs adjusted to the rebounding and Avery does what? Put in an offensive handicapped lineup only to help the Celtics comeback. Meanwhile, Marshon was there waiting to be used and he used him in the 3rd quarter for like 2 minutes. Idiotic.
But again, we should have won by 15. Rondo wasn't going to help them get out rebounded or make free throws, so they can carry on that excuse until Dec 25th. I hope everyone is healthy then and I hope everyone here is good boys and girls so we can get are gift from Santa...A new coach or Avery to get a brain.

It was funny how Steve Kerr brought up how we lost to them in preseason about 15 times but didn't say once how 2 days prior to that our backups beat their starters.

Yeah, except nobody said that. I know I said that his absence is being overstated, and that he's overrated in general. And in one game, when his replacements played very well, then yeah, for that one game, Boston might have been better without him. Over the course of a season, of course the Celtics are worse without him.
And it's more laughable to say that Rondo is the Celtics' best player. Not even close. It's clearly KG, followed by Pierce. Rondo is still only the 3rd best player on that team. Ball dominance doesn't make someone the best player.
