What's nonsense about what he said again?

The nonsense of stating, in September, that KG won't be playing back-to-back games. KG ain't much for that idea.

The idea of naming his most clutch guy (a guy that had only a fair season and a miserable playoff) when his team just acquired one of the top clutch players in the NBA.

And if you weren't paying attention to the nonsense he spouted during his playing career, good for you. All you missed was a lot of ridiculous quotes. He was the Mark Cuban of players, flapping-his-lips-wise

No one was paying attention to what little he was saying during his career because everyone was too caught up in how great he was on the court to care like you do.

Do you mean Nef? If you're from NY/NJ that is. Kidd got around a lot when he was out here.

And I know plenty. You just seem to have some personal vendetta against the dude and you come off sounding silly.

Been a Net fan a long time. Just watched two Net games from Dec. 2006. Kidd was a phenomenal on-court presence.

Offcourt, not so much. Offcourt, Kidd was about Kidd.

Other than what the papers were reporting, you would never know how much Kidd wanted BYron Scott fired, and how Kidd made Rod Thorn pay for not firing him.

Jason Kidd. Great ballplayer with some of the greatest basketball instincts ever. That's oncourt.

Offcourt, a lying POS that gets coaches fired, beats his wife in front of his son and drunkenly drives cars into utility poles.

I just find it hard to believe that the Nets are giving the ball to JJ when it matters the most. Lets say it's the finals and they are in game 7, tie game, with 10 seconds left on the clock. You're giving the ball to JJ over DWill, Pierce and KG? lol

JJ had better clutch stats than Kobe and LeBron too, but you still wouldn't give the ball to JJ over those guys.

Out of the 3 you mentioned, the only guy I'd give it to is Pierce. KG never truly performed all that great in the clutch when he was in his prime. He isn't a guy you can give the ball to and say "go get me a bucket" at this point in his career. Deron while a MUCH better option than KG is still ways behind Pierce and Joe in the clutch. He was secretly pretty bad in that department last season. I don't remember him hitting many shots with less than a minute to go in a close game last season. If anything I'd give it to Lopez before I'd give it to KG or Deron.

While KG was never a "clutch" performer in his prime, IMO the reason for that is not that he couldn't take the shot...but that he didn't want to. He was unselfish to a fault, and that was always my biggest criticism of him back then. When you're KG, sometimes you take the shot instead of letting guys like Googs, Hoiberg, Cassell, etc. take the shot.

This actually might work to our advantage here, because if he does pass the ball...Deron, JJ, Pierce, and Lopez should be able to make it.

Hell yes im giving it to JJ in that spot. dude can get his shot off against any matchup, rarely turns it over when doubled and usually comes through big.

Hell no i dont want Dwill taking that shot. he has shown nowhere near the ability to hit that big shot, doesnt always have a huge mismatch.

KG? no way unless its a second option kicked out to him for a wide open 16 footer.

Pierce is the only other guy id consider. he is an assasin as well.

I believe the proper statement should be.....

In the last seconds of close games last season, JJ was our most clutch shooter.

you have multiple players that can create offense in clutch situations, bickering about which one specifically is the 'best' is kind of silly if you ask me.

if I was a Brooklyn fan I would feel very comfortable with either Williams, pierce or JJ handling the ball with the game on the line. the fact that you have options is very positive since you can get the ball into the hands of whoever has the biggest mismatch. on top of that you have shooters that can spread the floor to give them space to operate.

bottom line is you guys shouldn't be worrying about who gets the ball with the game on the line since you have more than enough talent to score on a single possession. you also have a bunch of lineups that you can put around the combination of Williams-JJ-Pierce. you can add any combination of garnett, lopez, terry or AK to add spacing and voila.

also since you have so many proven weapons it would probably be prudent to run a play and get the defense scrambling anyways.

i'm not going to say i'm rooting for Brooklyn (following Detroit and Miami this year) but I am definitely intrigued by the team. for what it's worth I hope they dominate the battle for New York lol.

I'd give it to the player with better stats. Giving a guy the ball because of his rep is quite silly, IMO. Numbers matter most here.
