It was great. I knew what he was doing as soon as it happen.

Kg and pierce shouldn't be in the final minutes. They screw it up constantly.. Tonights game was very winnable. Why do they even get put in when the bench mob is playing really well.

This is where Kidd is in a no-win situation though...he sticks with the unit that's playing well, and they lose, and he gets crucified for keeping his "stars" on the bench...he brings his "stars" back into the game, and they lose, and he gets crucified for not sticking with the unit that's playing well.
Basically, the only way he gets excused is if the team wins, which a lot of times is out of his hands, because the players he puts in just straight up play like crap. Pierce and KG for the most part have been absolutely terrible, Pierce especially. Honestly, I liked what KG brought tonight, because his defense was excellent...finally gave us an interior presence that we haven't had since Lopez went down. But Pierce...good god...is there any way we can give him back to Boston and get Wallace back?

This is not true. Garnetts defense on Gasol was key to stay in the game those final minutes.
Pierce just missed a three that was very makeable for him. It happens.
The team fought back and gave their all, that's really all I can ask from them until Deron, Brook, Terry and Kirilenko gets back.

It's not an easy time right now, point your finger wherever you want... maybe if, out of the dozen failed off reb. putbacks, if we get a couple of those to go in, we win that game...however, besides PP making those 3 balls, his mistakes/TOs and his defense has been tough to watch...
I just cannot believe Mirza doesn't get a look in the end w/ a hot hand...regardless of my disgust falling short, Mirza made this loss a little less painful...I'm happy for him and it looks like the confidence from the coaching staff continues w/ Tele...actually, it's all about confidence...and consistency.

Yea, I have no idea why so many Nets fans are unhappy with KG playing the final stretch of the game. Plumlee had no chance of guarding Pau Gasol, and the substitution had to be made. KG came in and did exactly what he was supposed to, he locked down Pau and took away Lakers' go to option, which kept them scoreless for a long stretch. Unfortunately, Nets couldn't do anything on offense at the same time. The game was there for the taking.WhateverBro wrote:isekii wrote:Kg and pierce shouldn't be in the final minutes. Truth. It's just we haven't had many opportunities to win games this year which causes us to over react when we let one get away.

Are you guys really giving Kidd credit for that play? The acting was so bad and it was just a pathetic move. One more thing for everyone else to mock the nets with.

Who cares? It gave us a chance to tie the game.

See this is where I disagree.
Wallace was bad for an entire season.
Pierce is a few years older than Wallace and I expected a slow start from him.
I expect him to be ballin' by the end of the year, but we're just going to have to wait for him to get there mentally and physically.
Everyone keeps saying that KG and Pierce are completely done. There are some areas where they aren't as good as they used to be, but I don't see them being done. I see them as older plays who need more time than younger players to prepare and adjust for the season.
Right now, we're just suffering through the process of them getting there.

No one is disgusted with his defense.
It's just his choice to shoot the long 2 rather than wait longer for someone to come open or reset the play was annoying.
They were over the limit. We could've tried to reset and attack the basket in order to at least get a layup, foul, or And-1. Creating motion in the paint also opens up shooters at the end of the hame because most defenses don't want to allow any layup attempt close to the basket.
In itself, it wasn't a bad shot. But given the context of the shot, I'd much rather prefer to see a play wherr we attack thw basket than shoot a long 2 with little chance for an offensive rebound.

I truly believe we are this bad without Lopez and Williams. That is my assessment.

Yeah, I think so as well. I know everyone keeps harping on how last November, the team was 11-4 but Brook/Deron didn't get hurt until December and that month the team went 3-11.
This year, both get hurt in early November and the record is now 4-11.
Win or lose, there is no way anybody can replace them in the short or long term.

Re: PG: The Truth Can't Set Us Free
I'm not defending KG's shot, I'm just defending the decision to bring in KG in place of Plumlee. That KG shot was a bad decision but not a terrible one, it is something we've seen him make throughout his career. I would have preferred a JJ iso instead or a good look for Teletovic.NyCeEvO wrote:DarkXaero wrote:Yea, I have no idea why so many Nets fans are unhappy with KG playing the final stretch of the game. Team chemistry is also a major factor. KYP, knowing your personnel, is a dynamic all of its own. Everyone has weaknesses, things they are less accustomed to doing. It's really easy to set your team mates up for failure before you KNOW them and their limitations.
