Interior D is the only weakness which is why maybe looking for a real Center is more ideal than Lowry. I mean, let's be honest. Blatche, KG can't guard Drummond and Monroe and Brook will always miss 5 games every now and then. It's quiet obvious we need a real bulk center.

But I like the chemistry being built through these rotations. Our D should look a bit more consistent when Brook and AK return.

I'm actually happy to see this team resemble the one from last year.

I agree...Drummond/Monroe combo is pretty difficult for us to overcome w/out Brook and a rough second quarter...however, I like how we played resilient basketball and believed we could shoot ourselves back into this one...

Deron gets that call could be a different game, but we were w/in two after PP's shot...

Overall we still look better...

Still baffled that Kidd decided to start Reggie, instead of going with Mirza and moving KG to center.

We look better offensively, that's true, which means we should actually start winning games now...but the defense is still a mess. As good as Mirza, Deron, Blatche, and Pierce played offensively...they were terrible defensively. Pierce drew a charge down the stretch of the game against Josh Smith, but he was getting beat by Singler most of the night, and he committed some bad fouls. Blatche committed some bad fouls too, and he couldn't stop Monroe or Drummond at all. They destroyed him on the glass, and whenever we needed a stop, the Pistons went to Monroe against Blatche and he usually scored. Deron and Mirza carried us offensively, but Mirza was poor in terms of his rotations and help, and Deron chased his man too aggressively off the 3pt line all night, which ended up giving them an open lane to drive. Jennings scored on a couple of plays like that in the 2nd half. And nobody defended Stuckey well.

Here are our defensive ranks so far.

Overall DRating: 29th (we give up A LOT of points)

Opp eFG%: 22nd (we allow a lot of high percentage shots)
Opp TOV%: 26th (we don't force TOs)
DRB%: 21st (we give up a lot of 2nd chance opportunities)
FT/FGA: 26th (we give up a lot of FTs)

We don't force teams into bad shots, we don't force TOs, we don't secure the possession when they do miss a shot, and we foul a lot. All of that leads to being a horrible defensive team.

At least last year, we were an above average defensive rebounding team, and we were the 2nd best team in the league as far as giving up FTs.

Please god never let Reggie start again. If Lopez misses any more time lets try a Teletovic/Garnett starting unit with Plumlee/Blatche off the bench.

Bogus no call at end of game.

Pierce again looked good off bench.

Johnson and Anderson were off tonight. We need one of those 2 guys to light it up from outside on any given night.

i'm tired of this, why are we relying on Mirza, Blatche, Shaun or AA to help win us games? They need to contribute but its the "five" that are brought over to win these games.... we haven't played the top teams in the league yet and i'm crying for a god damn win vs the pistons? lol come on!

This is exactly how I feel. Forget any kind of silver lining or moral victory. There is no way we should lose to the pistons even without brook when you consider how desperate of a team we are right now. We still have deron, joe, paul, and KG. how about maybe these guys nut up and win a game without being 100% healthy, since, you know thats going to basically be the case all year.

Maybe you feel good coming back and making it close against miami or san antonio or something. but the pistons? no. that was a win we really needed no questions asked. that is a corner turning game if we win it. instead its back to square one hoping we can be a bad sixers team tonite. they blow us out in our own building and its back to being a horrible excuse filled team without a single player who could lead a whore to bed or play 1 complete game at 100% effort.

embarassing effor this team gave last night. and battling back in the second half wasnt encouraging for me, it just made me more pissed because it showed we were capable of playing with the same effort in the 1st half but didnt.

hope we make a lowry trade, this team needs a shake up.

Pistons just beat the Pacers. Before us they beat the Heat. Still we didn't have Lopez, but I don't feel as bad now.
