We played a grind it out win where Deron and JJ bailed us out in crunch time. Clearly, there was room for improvement.

This discussion is absolute gold coming from Prolhotov who complained about Deron in every single damn thread even though we were winning games. Every single thread with the Deron stuff. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Go take a seat dude. Exculpatory is a Pierce fan but he's a great poster. Attacking him for nothing is completely uncalled for.

complaining about bad play is one thing. complaining that your hero didnt get shot attempts in a great team win is another.

as is jumping for joy that your hero had some career milestone in a tough loss.

The Nets have to aim for the 3rd seed, they have Mavericks and Rockets, then all of them are games they should be able to win. Raptors have Thunders/Hawks the next two games and Heat/Rockets/Pacers to end the season.

I think thats the only way they can make some noise in the playoffs. If the Nets face Chicago they are done! They have a better chance against the Raptors but it would take a lot.

We have 4 games left on our schedule that I wouldn't mind losing: @Dallas, vs Minnesota, vs Houston, and @Miami. Those are all quality teams (yes, even Minnesota).

However, I don't see why we can't beat every other team on our schedule. Everyone else is pretty much a bottom-feeder, except for one more game @Charlotte. For example, I still think we should destroy the Knicks, despite their winning streak lately. They've been beating a bunch of bad teams, and Indiana has been awful lately. They're still only 28-40 despite a 7-game winning streak. We should beat them both times.

So going 12-4 the rest of the way is a legitimate goal imo, and we could perhaps do even better if we pull off the win @Dallas (D-Will always brings his A game there, and we've played them well for the last 3 years now), the win vs Minnesota (they're not a bad team, but they've been losing to lesser teams than us), or the win @Miami (we've had their number all year). I'm expecting losses, but those are winnable games imo.

I don't think we have any chance against Houston though, they're just a horrible matchup for us.

I think finishing 47-35 is legitimately realistic.

Definitely realistic but I could also see us resting key guys down the stretch. I think we've proven that we can beat any team home or away if were healthy. Home court is definitely a goal but I don't think it's worth playing Deron or JJ major minutes on the 2nd half of a back to back for example. I don't want to see those guys banged up or tired by game 5 of the first round at all - home court advantage or not. 12-4 is a nice goal but unlike some people here, I'm not concerned about road games versus any of the first round teams. Last year for example JJ wasn't 100% by game 7 and that was a huge issue.

I think we'll have a better idea in like 8 games or so.

I think we have a chance of beating any one left on our schedule outside of Detroit. In fact I say just sit the starters that game.

Up until a week ago, you would've bet your life on us finishing below .500 - I know that you're not confident. That's not a surprise.

Final comment to you, Prok:

I was totally pissed off when they lost to the Wiz. That does not mean I should not have commented on Paul's scoring milestone.

I was very pleased with the grind it out W last night. However, I still feel there was way too much ISO Joe, way too little Paul on O, & suboptimal offensive flow at certain times.

Disagree all you want, but do NOT address me in a disrespectful way.

Great win, had to go the whole day without social media just to enjoy the game.

D-Will was great and so was Joe. I'm just so pissed that we started the season so horribly, we would've been a 3rd seed by far if we just had started the season at .500 instead of going 10-21 or whatever the f it was in the beginning of the season. That's a HUGE hole to dig yourself out of and this team has done that. Impressive.

I'm predicting a 48-34 finish. Which in case you don't realize would be going 38-13 ever since we were 10-21; in other words, even with that win total, they would still be an elite team IMO based on how they started.
