Baller Mind Frame- Are the Nets Dark Horses in the East?

Good article that takes a look at the turnaround by the team and the importance of each of the unsung heroes who have provided a boost this season.

Shoutout to Jason Kidd's drink though!

as far as "dark horse" i dont know.... i mean i really cant see us getting to the finals when the road currently looks like: chicago-> Miami -> indiana. all of which would be on the road, all would likely require 6-7 games, and it would require that for all 3 series our jumpshots fall and our rebounding issues dont kill us.

i think we are a dark horse to advance to the second round as a 5 seed and maybe give indy or miami a 5 or 6 game run. but i dont see dark horse for the finals

^^ Agreed. Hopefully you guys snag the 3rd seed. Get like Was or Cha 1st round. Then I'd give you guys like a 20% chance to beat the heat. Idk who do you guys want more? Mia or Ind? Seems Mia, but having stars & the calls going against you is always rough.

I think ECF is a successful season. Only 4 teams reach the CF a year & being a top 4 team with your 2nd best player (or supposed to be) out all season, isn't terrible. Just sucks cause the potential this team had.

I don't think they're a dark horse though cause every team knows what they are. No one wants to play them first round.

I'd rather have Indiana. Miami has a 2nd gear...Indiana doesn't.

I think the remaining schedule makes a run towards the #3 seed plausible, thus a much easier matchup versus Charlotte or Washington.

I easily would prefer indy to miami. Miami is capable of curb stomping the F out of us. sure we are 3-0 against them but they have kind of been on cruise controla dn 2 of those were by 1 point or OT and without wade. the knicks and bulls had great regular season records vs the heat in recent years as well before getting swept or losing to them in 5 games in the playoffs.

Id much rather have indy. their size would hurt us since we dont have brook but i still like our chances much better against them. their offense is below average and they pace they force teams to play is the pace we prefer. and we'd have the best player in the series in dwill, not the case vs the heat

Exactly; find a way to contain Jefferson and the Nets would find themselves in an extremely favorable position. Ending the season strong is extremely important I think.

I feel you. I remember first year Miami assebmled, Celtics were 3-1 against them in easy fashion, & in the playoffs they whooped us 4-1. (Now we didn't have Shaq & Rondo went down, but regardless, it wasn't pretty at all).

Miami has that turn it up playoffs gear now. Maybe Wade is struggling health wise. Idk. Regardless I see BKN being a tough out.

as odd as it sounds, I'll say a dark horse vs Indiana & Heat but not against the Bulls or WSH... both teams have beaten us more so than we beat them and they give us fits more so than the other two....

Toronto is a toss up.

Got to sustain leads.... cant let teams hang in there and breathe life...
