Oh, I love it when we're not a jump-shooting team.
Teams that attack the paint are hard to beat in the playoffs.

If the Nets are focused from the tip it's hard to see them losing barring some more extreme home cooking from the referees or a fluke 50 point night from that chucker Derozan.
thats been the nets issue for 2 years now though... consistently coming out with focus/energy/intensity.
i will say, while he hasnt been great the last few games, im glad to have pierce in my corner for game 7. maybe he wont play well, but you know he wont be rattled and will be up for the game. he is the only player on either team i can say for a fact will not wither to the situation

We could use the extra rest after that game. Our starters looked tired at the end of the game.
On the other hand, the Raptors are notoriously bad at 1pm games.
What do you mean? How are they notoriously bad?
I think we're 1-4 this season in 1 pm games. But the game is gonna be either at 1 or 8 depending on the Houston game, not 7.

this really hasnt been talked about enough... we have really cut down the threes and run a ton more through the post, and attacked instead of settling for the first open look from 3.
other then lowry/vasquez who have always hurt us, i think Amir Johnson is key. when he has played well, they beat us every time, and role guys usually do better at home

He's right. Have had horrible losses (including game 1) all year in the early games.

S/O to TZ!

ehhh 50/50 on him. i liked him going to anderson to start. and we came out with energy, so thats got to give some credit to kidd.
i hated that he waited long to go back to the starters in the 4th, and i hated that he didnt run through johnson when it was johnson + 4 bench guys and let livingston go 1 on 1 and turnover it over 2 or 3 times instead. we had 3 mismatches (joe vs. derozan, thornton vs. novak, and blatche vs hansborough) yet we are letting livingston dribble the air out of the ball.
We survived, but the raps had a wide open 3 down 10. patterson hits that and who knows. kidd needed to perserve that lead, no reason not to extend his guys early ion the 4th

Prok, what's our record when you predict a 20-40 point loss?
I think you should do one more for old times sake.

Re: PG: Game 7....Again
I just came in here to say I hate Jason Kidd's coaching. I've never seen Pierce iced so much in big moments. It isn't even like he's playing bad... He's just not getting back into the game early enough. Pierce is probably playing less than 4:30mins in the 4th.. Wtf. How does Pierce keep get iced for a struggling Mirza and AA? Kidd is always over playing Mirza like he's waiting for him to hit a 3 smh. I understand Pierce is older, but 36 isn't 40. And what's the point of rest in an elimination game?
It was fun watching Pierce play for one of my home teams but I hope he doesn't resign with the Nets as long as Kidd is here.

PG: Game 7....Again
Excellent win.
DWill played VERY VERY VERY well & showed heart. His ankles are a curse.
JJ was VERY good again. He is a stud!
Truth had a VERY SOLID ALL AROUND game with 12 on 4-9 & 6Rs - 3As - 3 steals - 1 block & excellent D. He also played at a VERY high level in Game 1 (TOTALLY took over in Q4), Game 3 (18 points), & Game 4 (22 points & the BEST Nets player throughout the game in a L). His only really substandard game was his passive, 10 point, 5 TO Game 5. His EXCELLENT line for 6 games playing 30 mpg: 14 on 48% & TS% 60% & ORating 111 & PER 18 & 4.5R & 2.7A & 1.3 steals.
KG finally came through in Q4 - great D & actually provided some offense.
I have scanned the posts of the "usual suspects" displaying knee jerk over reactions, 180 degree pseudo-menopausal mood swings & beyond-pathological negativity. Have faith, men!

SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

We look like a different team when we make a concerted effort to attack the basket...we make it that much more difficult for the Raptor's defense, which IMO, is overrated despite being around 8th during the regular season, etc...

Meh, people said the same thing last year when we fought back from a 3-1 deficit...then we lost a game 7 to an injury-depleted team at home. Now, we're the injured team in a game 7, on the road. The Raptors are the heavy favorites to win game 7 imo.
Obvious favorites, but I don't know about heavy favorites...

This is a poor post.
BK was down -3-2 facing elimination and they are the better team and no reason why it should have gone to where it did?
No, this is tied because they are evenly matched.
"If the Nets are focused...", you're saying Toronto has done nothing and it has been the Nets shooting themselves in the foot, which is completely wrong.
All the BK fans get on Raptor fans for reffing, the Raptor fans are all saying that was a pathetic game by us and clearly BK just was giving it their all while we were lackadaisical and thought that BK would fold, forgetting everything they did to win. Now you're talking about reffing is garbage. I give a hundred percent credit to the Nets, not saying we are the reason we lost, obviously BK was just the much better team yesterday, we simply lacked that conviction and effort that BK did especially with their execution in the first half on O and D.
It's 3-3 for a reason, both teams have had lapses, both teams have made mistakes, and both teams played better than the other team in 3 games each.

And if they lost? There's no faith so shakey as sport. Can't fault people for falling off the rollercoaster every so often.
I look at your post, I look at your sig. It says, The pride is back!

For any stretch where the Nets have been focused they've hands down outplayed the Raptors and the Raptors have been unable to match their intensity.
The Raptors have at times done a good job of exploiting the Nets weakness inside, but in general the Nets have gotten whatever they wanted on the offensive end of the court - they're just missing wide open threes that they hit all season long.

So you're saying any time the Raptors have looked dominant, the Nets aren't playing focused? Yet any time the Nets are focused, the Raptors are?
I don't know, I feel the teams are pretty even, although neither team has really played a full 48 minute game to the best of their ability up to this point. They've come close, IMO the Nets have come closest with game 6, but it was pretty clear to me that the Raptors weren't focused at all in that game aside from a small spurt in the 4th quarter. As much as the Nets have missed 3's that they normally make, I believe the Raptors can say the same. They relied on the 3 all season long, and when they couldn't hit it, they usually lost. They also haven't played defense to the best of their ability for much of this series.
Anyways, not looking to start something, I feel both teams are much better than they've shown and I'll likely be cheering for whoever wins this series for the rest of the playoffs. A think the major downfall for both teams is their coaches.. Hope game 7 is a good one!

the nets not playing hard is part of who they are though... so you have to factor that in to who is the better team. the nets are more talented, but the raptors play much harder. you cant just dismiss that aspect
