Why do we not feed the ball to our main guys? I'm looking at the box score and Wade shoots 24 shots.

JJ shoots 14 times.

Our main guys do not act like main guys on a nightly basis.

Because they don't want it.

We've seen Deron give up the ball to his teammates (or to the opposition!!!), shirking his responsibilities as the playmaker for this team.

We've seen Joe take and make shots but rarely do we see him demand the ball.

Stars on other teams are absolutely livid if they're not the ones taking the last shot. They want to be held responsible. They want to put the team on their backs and lead them to victory.

You know what the most embarrassing thing from last night was (I wish someone could make a GIF of this). When JJ and Bojan made those back to back 3s to cut it to 2 with like 35(?) seconds left in the game, the camera panned over to the bench as the players on the court were coming since MIA just called a timeout.

Guess who was the most excited person on the bench? KG.

He was clapping and tapped every single player that was on the floor basically saying "Come on, let's go." If you could see the disinterested look on D-Will and JJ's faces after KG taps them, it's absolutely disgusting. They seemed more bothered by the fact that someone was egging them on to come back than wanting to actually win the game for themselves.

I'm just getting burned up just thinking about it now. This team...this core....UGH!!

When we play teams that have legit stars it shows the vast difference in what we have on the floor. Our core is lame. Wade and JJ or Dwill should have been battling. Nope. They let Jack and Anderson take the shots. This is why I dont care who they ship out between the 2.

They need some athletes on this team in the backcourt though, they never get easy buckets and cant defend anyone from going in the paint.

I have come to the conclusion that the only way to watch this team is to expect them to lose.

Yeah I think the ending of the game last night is a sign that we need a player more like Lance. We need to be more aggressive, Dwill has looked so much better this year but he clearly is still stuck in that place of 0 aggression that he fell into last year.

Joe for some reason is not doing EXACTLY what he should, dominate the ball and be the big man.

I'd love to have Lance who would actually WANT to go crazy aggressive at the end of the game. This game was SO winnable

I still feel the best trade is Brook & Anderson for Lance & Biyombo

So in one thread you complain about JJ being a selfish player and in this one he isnt being selfish enough.

JJ didnt have a good matchup. Deng is one of the best defenders in the NBA vs big wings. This is a game where the matchup favored DWIll. He had a good game as a playmaker but we needed him to be more of a scorer.

This lose wasnt that upsetting. The rain delay hurt us. It took a while to get back into the flow of the game.

There was a rain delay for both teams. This is on par with Raptors fans who blamed the game 1 loss on the shot clock malfunction. Both teams were affected.

I just can't understand why our stars don't want to man up like they should. JJ and Deron should each be taking around 15+ FGAs a night to keep us in the game. It boggles my mind that our 2 main players last night seemed so passive.

Get Lance here and shake up the rotations. Play with some fire.

I really want JJ to be our guy, and I think he can be if we get a few more pieces, but he seems to only turn it on part time.

Whenever there is a long layover like that one team is going to be effected more then the other. It hurt us. Im not using it as an excuse but we gave them a big lead after the delay.

And this is all the more reason why a trade for Lance is a necessity to breathe life into this gutless, pussy roster. Lance will take the ball and try to make a play for himself or his teammates by attacking. He may be crazy as hell, but he isn't afraid.

It was alarming to me that when Wade dropped ten straight points on Karasev to begin the game, we did not see any aggressive play on the other end of the floor from Johnson or Deron.

This is why I think Lance would fit on this team. Even though JJ is a good ISO player, I think he prefers being a catch and shoot player. It's like the difference between Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. Allen was always better off the ball because he was such a threat that his man couldnt leave him. Pierce on the other hand was always better with the ball because he was a better play maker.

Johnson's been successful in both roles but he is better as a catch and shooter player in my opinion because he looks to pull up for a jumper on his drives instead of going to the glass with layups and seeking contact for FTs. People forget that before Joe went to Atlanta he was probably the best off the ball guard in the NBA playing next to Nash. He shot 47.8% on 3pts that year.

Adding Lance to this team would give us someone who is a legit threat on his drives. That will force defenses to collapse and give our shooters like Joe, Mirza and DWill much better looks. Right now our shooter are being covered tightly because no one can beat their man of the dribble. I dont like Mirza but he is better then a 33.7% 3pt shooter. He would benefit the most from adding Lance. Johnson is at 39.3% for the season and I can even see him getting closer to 43%.

We gave them a big lead because that's what we do. The Heat are the oldest team in the league and we let them run circles around us again. The only starter who took his matchup seriously was Sergey. Wade torched him and he went right back at him. Joe and Deron did nothing as usual.

The roof leak was only delaying (pun intended) what was going to happen anyways.

LOL no. If Toronto doesn't win by double digits I'd be surprised.

I'm not sure. D-Will usually gets up for games against the Raps. Same goes for JJ, but the raps will start fields over Vasquez and have our own JJ to guard him off the bench. That should neutralize him a bit.

I don't think it will be a blowout. I sense a good game.

huh?

dwill routinely gets abused by lowry. there are only a few teams he has played worse against since joining the nets.

i agree with jeff, be suprised if we dont lose by 15 or more

In recent years, our backup PG situation has been such a state of flux. We need consistency off the bench for Deron.

Livingston > Watson > Jack > Farmar

We should be making a move to get another quality PG. Jack is not who we thought he would be.

as a backup PG, livingston was pretty putrid as well. he really only was a positive when he started at SG/SF
