The Celtics crowd was into it, and the Celtics team were playing really well, killing us in transition & in the paint. We made a really good comeback on the road, and our team made some big plays to get finally get a 3 win streak going. Props to Jack who has been balling and hit that huge go-ahead bucket. Also to Alan Chuckerson who made some amazing shots today.
There's an expectation that the team is much better than what we actually are. It only takes a two game winning streak before people on the other site are seriously commenting on how the East is wide open and we have a shot.
People need to smell the roses and start taking off the blinders. For whatever reason, we have a core that is collectively pretty bad. The most expensive trio in the league (sadly) is also the trio that underperforms the most.
We are what we are...a team that at its peak will win 40+ games and at its worst will win 30+.
We don't need to wait for more time to pass so players can be super-healthy in order to judge them. No...the time has passed. We've been 2.5 years and the excuse machine is still running at an all-time high.
Tonight was just a perfect summation of the Nets over the last few years. Our core just can't deliver on a consistent basis and it's exceedingly rare for all 3 to play well together. None of them played well tonight...D-Will was overdribbling, Lopez was ughhh, and JJ just had a bad/off-game (he almost looked depressed that Lopez was back lol).
If we're going to reach that 40+ win mark, we need more play like tonight. We overcame an 11pt defecit, largely with Lopez and D-Will on the bench lol. That should speak volumes about what the true core of this team actually is.
(Plumlee's man defense in the post isn't great, but Lopez was getting beat off the dribble by Olynyk to the basket...smh. If we can't even rely on interior defense to help us out, we'll continued to get murdered in the pain like we did tonight.)
