Pretty much every team and coach would try to slow down the game.

Thats uber blowout territory... usually coaches will keep doing what you are doing, and put in scrubs once the other team waives the white flag. slowing the game down is something you do up 8-1 with 4 minutes to go. up 20+ in the 4th the game should be over. being overly conservative is usually what leads to comebacks. players pass up good shots to drain clock and end up taking bad shots or turning it over. just keep executing.

And how is it not worth criticizing?

because putting your starter in who was having a great game for your reserve who was also playing great isnt some off the wall move. especially when you are trying to match up with a stretch 5 and the guy you have in is a slow big man.

Are you saying there was no lineup or nothing Hollins could have done to prevent that melt down?

No, I don't believe so... and if there was, he tried like hell to find it. as mentioned he played 9 different guys in the 4th quarter. The nets took their foot off the peddle, they thought they had it one, once orlando got it going they couldnt turn the switch back on. maybe some lineup he didnt try would have worked, but he had 5 or 6 different lineups and used a ton of timeouts to change things up.... at the end of the day there isnt a ton you can do to stop a lineup with 4 3 point shooters all of whom didnt seem to miss. surely lopez wasnt going to gaurd fournier or frye (their PF/C at the time) and wasnt drawing 6 fouls on frye in 7 minutes of play to get him off the floor.

Either way...I'm still not sold on Hollins substitutions. He's been better as of late, but that Jack/D.Will duo continues to be overused severely and again I think Friday was another example. His timeouts and reactions to the impending collapse was spot on but apparently the adjustments he made didn't work.and the players he had in didn't respond. We allowed 37 points in the fourth or whatever it was...it wasn't some 3-4 minute fluke of hot shooting.

Hollins can't play for the players. as mentioned earlier in the thread, not 1 person has suggested an alternate lineup or player that hollins hadn't put in. As far as hollins rotations, they have been outstanding of late and we are winning games and ball movement has been fantastic, especially with the jack led unit.

it is also tough not to play jack and dwill together in games where they both play well, as we really dont have alot of good options at gaurd especially on the road where bogdanovic has been awful.

IMO today will be an interesting test. Miami has been playing poorly but they still are up 2-0 on us even when lacking key players. They aren't as bad as their record and are home. They aren't a good team necessarily but they are a rival fighting for a PO spot. Curious to see what adjustments Hollins makes here specifically defending Wade and Bosh.

he shouldnt make any... we outside of 1 quarter last night we played outstanding. you dont change things because of 1 quarter afer 7-10 games of excellent play.

We played miami well last time outside of wade going HAM... our offense was pathetic but thats was before we went with jack/plumlee. JJ flows alot better with the current starting lineup and dwill and lopez can get high usage off the bench without disrupting things.

Ummm...I suggested another lineup...one without Plumlee who was -17 in the final 7 minutes and if I watched the game live I would have posted it. We couldn't have played any worse in that fourth specifically after Plumlee came in...in to a game we, like any team, were playing not to lose.

Anyway...I know his this goes with you whenever I post on this site...in circles and all day thus I said here comes Prok in 3,2,1...so I'll stop, let you have the last word as I always do and simply ask..

So you don't think he should make any adjustments guarding Wade who torched Karasev last game? You say outside of him going HAM...but bosh didn't play. We had one guy to contain and didn't.
