Is there any reason why Brown only played 5 mins?

thats currently a starter, 7th man, and backup PG...

I know when you look at it, its like why are these scrubs playing but ask yourself who else are you gonna put out there? jack and joe are already playing 35-40 minutes.

in their defense, when they pass out fo the double team there really isnt anyone to get it to that is consistently hitting shots

meaningless? we are .5 games up of charlotte for the 8 seed. there are no meaningless wins, we are hanging on by a thread. furstrating to blow a 25 point lead, but we just got a win on the first fo a west coast trip. thats big.

plus some of these bums will be gone via trade soon (hopefully)

I'll take the Win. its a HUGE win with charlotte and detroit on our tails. we picked up a game on miami as well... my thoughts...

Brook was great. the difference? EVERYTHING WAS GOING TOWARDS THE RIM. He needs to be on the mason plumlee diet of not trying to shoot unless its a dunk. obviously with brook you arent that restrictive, but all his FGA should be going towards the rim. he had what, 1 spot up jumper and 2 of those dirk fades? i can live with that if he is gonna get to the rim that much.

Bogs was excellent moving without the ball. he had some nice cuts and finsihes.

Anderson was really good, he played his rear off this game. maybe the only one who did.

Mason needs to stay out of foul trouble

Joe was good first half, gone the second half. that guy needs a week off bigtime.

Morris looks comfortable for a dleague scrub. he shouldnt be out there but im glad he plays confident

He looked good when out there. He gets a lot of elevation on his jumper

Yeah, I don't get why this is a meaningless win. It may have been painful to watch (full disclosure: I did not watch it lol) but I don't think it should be considered meaningless considering that the most meaningful thing for us to do is to minimize the Hawks chance at getting a lottery pick.

The bottom line is that we need to make the playoffs at all costs.

seriously... i can not fathom anyone calling this a meaningless win. This is an extremely important time for the franchise. making the playoffs is super critical. not only was this a meaningful win, it was a win we HAD to have. coming home 1-2 or 0-3 on this trip would be disasterous

Agreed on Brook. 25 FTA's in the last 3 games too. He's an 80% ft shooter. Him being aggressive in the paint is so key. When Brook plays like this it drives me crazy that it's not constant.

That has always been my biggest issue with brook. not consistently being aggressive going to the rim, and not consistently playing with effort.

when he shoots alot of jumpers, he hurts the team. period. no way around that. even a few weeks back when he was 6-6 on jumpers and had like 18 first half points eventually those jumpers didnt fall, he finsihed with 21 points on 22 shots and had 0 FTs and ended up hurting more then helping.

Yeah i was gonna say, having them force a contested shot is probably better than passing out for someone like Bojan or Mirza to fire up brick after brick

Joe desperately needs to be shut down for a few games but I'd only be comfortable with that once Deron comes back.

PG: Nets/Kings - Meaningless Win

Post#54 » by Zachbretton » Thu Jan 22, 2015 4:54 pm

I guess a further upside of this game beyond the W to keep us in the playoffs... KG and Plums were both low on minutes and maybe key in making this next game competitive.

On a separate note, I just keep sitting here thinking what this team could be if Mirza and Bogs could find any sort of stroke. Every game I see so many perfectly timed kick outs to open or poorly contested threes... The only problem is we only hit 33% of them.

We could be a crazy different team if our 3 point threats could actually be THREATS!

But I'll just keep sitting here, hoping :/

Joe desperately needs to be shut down for a few games but I'd only be comfortable with that once Deron comes back.

Which is why losing Paul Pierce hurt so much.

I remember it took them a while last year to figure out playing together.... with the slow start, then Pierce coming off the bench. Eventually it all clicked and they started playing well around each other. Each shooter helped take pressure off the other guy. That's why Joe was so good in the post season, and Pierce came up clutch a bunch of times too.

We need another guy like that to help if we want to keep Joe around. I can see both Deng and Lance helping fill that role.

And obviously we need a healthy Deron back for the rest of the year. I'm glad it's his ribs and not his ankles/feet/hamstring/calves or anything that can be a long time nagging injury.
