Wasn't Robinson highly regarded by King? If so I wouldn't be surprised if we signed him over Blatche.

I do think we have to sign another bigman, regardless, unless Jefferson is planning on getting steady minutes now.

Is there really an argument that KG is a better player for this team than Thaddeus Young?

“He’s a three/four,” said King, who drafted Young in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft as general manager of the 76ers. “At times when teams would go small against us we would struggle to match up that way, so having drafted Thaddeus I know he can play both positions and he gives us some athleticism.”

That immediately was on display when Young checked into the game for the first time early in the second quarter. Coach Lionel Hollins called Young’s number right away, and the resulting play turned into an easy basket for him.

“That worked out perfect for me,” said Young, who didn’t get a chance to participate in any practices or walk-throughs with the Nets before the tip and had just had a chance to communicate with Hollins via text message before the game. “That kind of got me right into the game and get a feel for it. I just stepped right in and played from there.”

He is terrible defensively other than pick&roll and occasional steals but he is an efficient and intelligent offensive player, not a stretch PF per se but can shoot the ball, has a midrange game, can run and is a good finisher, opportunistic scorer.
He is a really good team player, plays hard, plays smart and plays for the team.

His added athleticism and long arms and quick legs helped us get to some loose balls and easy shots, thats what this team was missing.

Adding Blatche right now is sticky. If Lopez gets in foul trouble he will be needed besides that he wont get much playing time unless you sit Plumlee.

Blatche could play PF.

Right now our PF options
-JJ who was a SG two years ago
-Young a tweener who isn't a rebounder or post defender
-Corey Jefferson who arguably isn't an NBA quality player
-Plumlee who isn't a PF

Young being a lefty cant be overlooked.

When Young got an offensive rebound over Sacre on the right block, he got an easy hook shot because he is lefty. Most players are right handed therefor most defenders are use to guarding righties. Muscle memory sets in and tendencies are formed to asses risk. Most players are a bigger risk from the left block because they can go over their left shoulder for a hook shot. Sacre relaxed for a moment because through his years of basketball most players pass out in that situation.

i agree it helps thad is a lefty.... they are funky and always seem to hit odd looking shots. but its super minimal. not nearly enough to make up for the fact he is a 6'8" forward who doesnt rebound well on a team with a couple other bigs who dont rebound well.

i like him at PF on a team with PGs who get up and down the court and wings who are atheltic. we dont have that.

i see playing him at the 3 and going big the only way he works as a starter. as a PF i think you need to bring him off the bench with lopez and let them beat up on opposing bench fodder
