potential 10 day contracts....

Post#1 » by Prokorov » Sat Apr 4, 2015 5:27 pm

assuming we look for another 10-day guy when clark runs out:

C - Sam Dalembert. still a FA after being waived by the knicks. good size and can backup lopez if we decide to play plumlee more at PF with clark not being the awnser and CJ not looking ready/getting burn. i also trust dalembert guy is a smart vet who can defend a bit and he is a jersey guy

C - javale mcgee. similar reasoning to dalembert

G - Jordan Crawford. a chucker but could also help spark the bench. he has some eddie house/thornton in him in that he can get white hot. wouldnt mind giving him a 10 dya and see if he heats up

crazy longshot

G/f stephen jackson. not a long term awnser and hasnt played this year and is semi-retired but for 10 days i like the grit and competitiveness he might bring especially if AA is out a bit.

there really arent any PF options. and not much as far as shooters go.

Would guys like McGee be eligible for the post season?
I forget the rule about being eligible...something to do with March 1.

Don't see a need for a C.
I think it has to be a wing or PF...just don't know who.

Just saw Damien Wilkins is in the D league averaging 20ppg...always kind of liked him...and he's a veteran. I also wouldn't mind Jordan being waived so we can add both a wing and a PF. Clark should go.

not sure but dont care. to me it would be about getting in the playoffs. thats all i care about.

i agree id want a PF, but there are none... i think plumlee might be the best backup PF we can find. which would create a need for a center

McGee would be eligible. But would be a pointless signing. So would any C at this point.

Our best bet is finding some D-League guy. Willie Reed, Khem Birch, Jerrelle Benimon. But I think we just roll with CJ/Earl Clark + hope that we can get away with Joe Johnson as our backup PF in the playoffs. If Hollins can't get Earl to cut down the selfishness and dumb shots, I think we go with Cory Jefferson. I still think Earl can help if he chills out with the dumb shots. It's probably too late in the season for Hollins to develop him though.

Why would a center be pointless?

i dont think it is hard to say plumlee is a better reserve PF option then earl clark and CJ.

I dont want to run with earl clark. he is not a good player and he is a giant chucker on a unit that already chucks too much.

im fine giving CJ some minutes, but i also dont like putting faith in the 60th pick of the draft who hasnt shown much and is bound to be enormously inconsistent.

i think dalembert would be a great signing. having depth as far as bigs in the playoffs always helps. what happens if lopez is in foul trouble? worse what happens if thad is in foul trouble?

for wings id also look into brining in melvin ejim. i think he really needs a shot in the league. i think he could be a jae crowder type player

1. Plumlee is not a PF

2. The problem is lack of spacing and Plumlee does not replace Mirza

3. If signing McGee or anyone else works, they wouldn't be eligible for the playoffs and we are back to square one.

We're better off just sticking with CJ. I don't get why Clark is getting so much freedom. I'm starting to think his mini relationship with Jack has something to do with it.

Mason is not a PF. Period. Signing a scrub to move Mason out of position is absolutely pointless. We already have Jerome Jordan. I really doubt any FA C would be able to contribute more than he would- especially without knowing the schemes.

I'd 100% rather play CJ or Earl Clark at PF vs. playing Mason at PF next to a C like Dalembert or McGee.

With Thad and Joe Johnson playing minutes at PF - I don't really mind squeezing a couple of minutes out of Earl Clark or Cory Jefferson. That's not a role with a lot of responsibility. The bench hasn't failed because of them.

CJ needs to play... why Hollins doesn't allow this IDK...

2nd, I would be interested in Crawford... definitely a chucker but a scorer he is... our bench needs some **** punch. If they ain't going to play defense then they better score the sh*t out of the baskets...
