Ellington isnt playing good defense either but he has been a lot better then Markel.

markel brown isnt the anwser to ANY problem. he comes in and we still struggle on both ends. we ahve major issues, not the type that can be solved by putting in a second round pick who has no position and who is an enormous liability on offense

lopez was not smiling he missed the shot, he smiled because of how easy the shot was and it went in and out. i agree lopez needs to want to be great but ive seen great improvement in his defense, rebounding, and even passing the last year or so that ive never seen before from him.


i agree , hollins needs to have the balls to bench joe johnson and ellington, start bojan and let markel brown play. he needs to do this but for some reason i doubt it until these guys get injured or something.

markel brown and bojan arent the awnsers to anything. bogs played a pretty awful game himself and is already getting minutes. im all for less joe johnson, and i like markels hustle. so if you want the change to see the effort thats all well and good. but it wont change anything in the win column. brown is a pretty bad player, with enormous flaws on the offensive end and who doesnt have a real position to play

i knowanswers but joe is a bench player at this point and i rather just see bojan starting cause joe and his body isnt able to handle large minutes or play against starters anymore at this point in his career. markel gives you more defense and hustle than ellington with ellington shot looking awful.

joe might be a bench player, but markel brown is arguably not even an nba player. him "hustling" doesnt change that he is a pretty bad player. one without a position.

at the very least players respect joes game. the close out on him to the 3 point line and they double him on the block. does he suck? kinda. should he start? no. but there arent alternatives that will make a difference.

if you want to start young guys, thats fine. the issue i have is with this crazy notion that sitting joe would result in us being 5-5 or winning more games. markel brown is not a good player, and if you give him joes minutes that will be painfully obvious.

this is a talent issue, not a coaching issue. the coach can do better, but not to the point where we would have won more games.

But he (Markel) actually can contribute on at least ONE end of the floor. Johnson does neither. There is no reason why he is being played this many minutes and we can't use floor spacing as an excuse because teams are letting him shoot and aren't doubling when he goes ISO.

Hollins had to be forced to play Hollis-Jefferson despite all numbers pointing to the Nets benefiting from him being on the floor. He also benched Brown as a childish reaction to being forced to play RHJ. The team lacks talent but Hollins does not get a pass here.
