On ESPN this morning, one of the Boston reporters was talking about how after Brown was picked all the Boston hype died and fans started leaving the building. I rejoiced inside a little.

But then he threw in there "by the way, the Celtics still own the Nets for the next 2 years and the Nets managed to get WORSE last night by drafting Levert and Whitehead". He had to throw that jab in there at the end, what a typical Celtics degenerate.

edit-- forgot this too, he declared the Nets have the worst roster in the entire NBA. Totally leaving out the bit that we have more money than the knicks to sign free agents... what a tool

ok let me be serious for a second

what do you guys see in this kid? he was inefficient in college

He never played point guard. Give him a break, he just started learning. He was always a shooting guard. He has great potential in the PG position

yeah... he was a shoot first combo gaurd on a team without much offense. efficiency really isnt the story... also alot of it has to do with him being a local kid and an underdog hard worker. he is kind of the exact type of guy MDB likes an i predict he becomes a fan of his.

no one is saying or expecting him to become our starting PG and a solid NBA starter. but he can become a good backup PG/Combo gaurd.

I'm sure I will like him if he's a hard worker.

I need to see serious traction in FA. Not stars obviously, but some good signings that will lead me to believe we'll be a competitive team.

Right now if we come out of July with Rondo and Bazemore & a productive PF I'll relax. I just don't want to waste another season watching these guys get drilled while Boston collects another top 3 pick.

i mean two 2nd rd caliber picks is not exciting me right now. i thought they traded Thad to nab a guy that was ready to go now, not someone who has serious doubts.

I'm giving both the new kids a chance and i'll be rooting for them but i don't like this draft at all or what was done. that cap space better yield fruit :noway:

I would be interested to know if CLV was indeed the big target on their boards? or was he consolidation?

perhaps the former...

This is the same guy who said there was "no way" we could end up in the draft with a 1st rounder. ESPN loves hiring these homer "reporters". Meanwhile, everyone else including Chad Ford praised the trade and the two guards we took.

I like Bazemore, i'm afraid we'll have to max Rondo, and I want no parts of Barnes.

ugh.

I think Rondo will do well here, especially with Brook. I think he'll embrace the Brooklyn culture and become very popular. I don't think he's going to stick around Sacramento, and since NY got Rose, I think we're going to sign him.

The other guy I would love to get would be Beal. You want to talk about rebuilding with a young guy, he's only 22 and can do some serious scoring.

We will need to address the glaring hole at PF now. Any chance we can get Robinson back? I know he had flaws but I liked his ethic and thought he fit well with Brook.

Robinson was a complete stat padder. I had really high hopes on this guy and he let me down. Even those monster games he had. He doesn't play a lick of defense until there is a chance to put numbers in the stats. He could've been a great back up center but he is just not big enough or strong enough to be a consistently be there. He probably have one more contract to stay in the NBA and he'll probably be gone overseas

I had forgotten Horford was a FA and that we could land him still, especially with Atkinson as our new coach. I wouldn't mind having him here for sure.

Don't underestimate this guy. He probably has the highest ceiling out anyone in the second round. This guy can play. It's just a matter of time in developing this guy and stop the bad habits. Don't be surprise if he turns out to be Gilbert Arenas esque player.

really all this phony is trying to do is instill hope in the Celtics fan base again since a majority realize Ainge screwed up on the #3 pick. He's just trying to tell everyone "look it's going to be ok, we still have their picks for the next 2 years so don't worry that we messed up this year."

Don't really see Arenas in Whitehead.

I have to say though, getting Whitehead makes me warm up a bit to Levert. Look I have no idea what condition the foot is. I can guess what the projections are, but from "fit"? A 2nd unit of Whitehead, Levert, and RHJ would shut perimeters down. If these three develop their games fully and stay healthy and somehow, miraculously, become full-time starters, we can basically switch 1-3 however we want on the perimeter defensively.

An athletic 4 like Chris M probably fits in that too, so that would give us a 1-4 switch capability.

Now about Brook......
