Kenny has these guys playing.

Great games all around despite the flaws here or there.

Love seeing Whitehead take those charges, that's what we need.

Hate Lopez on the 3 for multiple possesions, hate hate it. He came through but i hate it.

Booker is the epitome of BrooklynGrit. What a game!

Got to limit TOs for Skill n RHJ but its a learning process, thats good.

We had good success attacking the rim rather than to always settle on the 3...IMO.

Refs were crazy last night... for both sides.

this team is playing great, cant wait til lin gets back and joins the fun.

why are they worried? because its the chance to get a superstar, and those are tough to get. especially in boston. also, Brown looks like he is going to be really good.

Maybe I've missed it but has Lopez completely eliminated that face up 18 foot bank shot from his game? Haven't seen him do it this year and it's been one of his staples. When he catches it 15 feet he's either drawing a foul with the rip through or going to the rim. It's crazy how versatile Brook is offensively.

Prokorov wrote:Just watched the game on DVR... my thoughts:

1) Thought we got solid games from Whitehead and Harris. they certainly didnt lead the charge but strong efforts from both . 6-7-7 from whitehead with just 2 turnovers and took 3 charges... 2 of them after getting hurt trying to draw a charge. these are huge minutes for his development... and a huge silver lining to some of the injuries we have had. Harris was good... 3 still off but he was scoring in other ways. really helped with some key buckets when the score got close

2) Brop3z knocking down threes like he is dirk or something... shooting with no hesitation and with confidence. and some from well beyond the line. this is fantastic, as is his rate.... he has taken ONE long two pointer (16-22 feet) this year after having close to 20% of his attempts come on long twos last season. thats down to 1% this year. His threes went from 1% of his attemps last year to 30% this year and he is shooting threes at 36% on pretty high volume (10/28).

Brooks TS% is at a career high 60.1%, his PER at 22.4 up from last year and his eFG at 56% also a career high. obviously SUPER small sample but i think we can at least say that him shooting threes isnt a bad thing, especially since they are at the expense of the 20% of his shots coming on longs twos that are down to 1% this year.

3) Defense is still ugly... its good its organized, we know what spots to go to, where to rotate. too many liabilities still but i think with effort and sticking with the system we can be 18-22 type bad and not 25-30th type awful. which could mean alot with the pace we play at and how much we score.... we have alot of bad habits still. the over helping kills us. we shouldnt be doubling on post catches.

4) HUGE shot from bogs. enoromous. he misses that and we could easily have lost. big stones to take it and to make it. good job by lopez not forcing a shot up as well

5) Bench was again outstanding. these guys got CRAPPED ON here in the preseason but thus far are the second best bench in the league by PPP and 4th in +/-. not to mention 2 straight close games and a 1-1 record without lin, pikcing up the slack for him being out.

Kenny continues to do an insanely good job coaching this team. they keep their cool, dont get into it with officials, and compete for 48.

Hopefully we smash the knicks tonite

Remember why I was telling guys that I was glad Bojan kept shooting the other game even though he was off?

That aggressive mentality from Bojan is a necessity for us to win games.

kenny is coaching the hell out of these boys. We need to SMASH the Knicks.

Plenty of posters didn't crap on Harris, Hamilton, Scola, Foye in preseason. SKil has been improving his discipline; mostly in control now, minimizing his ISOs.

For a team with the "least amount of TALENT" in the league, I'd like to know from the "experts" how long this windfall can last.

the majority killed him. the preseason game threads where super harsh.

talent isnt there... but we appear to have an elite coach, tons of effort and finally play modern ball. hopefully that take sus places

Great win. Looks like Whitehead is seizing the chance and improving rapidly, which could be big down the road.

So "talent" no longer determines the W/L record?
other things like effort, system, coach actually make a difference, c'mon... now

of course talent determines the record. but its nice to finally start building a real culture with a real coach. once we start getting some talented pieces in, we will be right there with the 45-55 win teams. same path boston took, only slowed due to a lack of picks.

There's that infernal word again "CULTURE".

If talent determines the record then the RECORD indicates Nets this instant is 15-17th rather the worst 29th-30th in the league.

The Wolves were so overrated by so many. Some very wild projections out there for them... and they are still as limited as last year.

I dont put much stock into 7 game samples, but currently that is the case yes.

Hpefully over 82 games im proven very wrong. even if im not, this season is about building something sustainable longterm, and the results there look really promising

yeah... you still need veterans and experience to win in this league. i cant remeber any team other then OKC just doing it with all young guys and even then it took 3 type 10 type players and a few seasons.

They are alot closer to philly then they are some 50 win teams. these guys are just a couple years removed from high school. they need some guys in their prime to balance that out or they need 3-4 years experience before the wins pile up

Listen, we are beating teams that we are capable of beating. There will be nights where we screw up in the 4th. there will be ass whippings as well. But the fact is, we are better than expected, and the style of play looks sustainable. so i expect us to shoot past the over/under. I think as long as we can stay healthy we can hit 30 wins ate bare minimum now, this team is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than last year's 21 win team.

The fact we have a 3-4 record without Lin and without our 1st round pick is a testament to Kenny Atkinson and Sean Marks. You can wish injuries on our players but a good coach with a system and culture isn't going away. That can't be erased.

Boston fans not exactly the classiest of people.

No their not. A lot of what I've seen on this site leads me to believe they were kicked a lot as babies and have suffered major psychological damage as a result of that abuse.
