Doesn't mean squat about what he'll do after he leaves Cleveland.

Can't wait for the first Brook Lopez fan to play in the NBA.....

Which will be never.

I will be stunned. STUNNED, to find out a few years from now that one of these young kids in the area (NY/NJ) says "yeah, i grew up as a Nets fan...watched Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, and Joe Johnson"

i'd honestly question that kid's character morally, and his or her fiber as a human being. you just have to be some kind of scumbag or something to say that is what got you into basketball....

then again, I became a Nets fan watching Derrick Coleman play.

I'm less than trash.... :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

So, I was right about Kyrie not wanting to play with LeBron.

I've known this for a few years now. Kyrie never liked LeBron like that. He's actually back in Jersey right now and has a desire to stay in this area, which is why the Nix are being listed as one of the destinations.

I don't think we have much to offer to Cleveland if we were to even call them.

props to you for calling kyrie wanting out... not quite carl calling the kidd thing but still big ups...

on the downside, he did not list the nets as a team he was interested in, and to make it worse he did list the knicks :banghead:

man id LOVE a jersey native like kyrie in brooklyn... if we could somehow reunite him and kidd-gilchrist that would be sick.

issue is as long as lebron is there they would want win now pieces, which we have none of. so unless its a 3 team deal i dont see it working

The only trade offer I can think of isn't very realistic:

Nets receive: Irving, JR Smith, and RJ

Cavs receive: Jeremy Lin, Caris LeVert, RHJ, Trevor Booker, and 2 first round picks (2018 from Toronto and our own from 2020)

To start off, not only do the Cavs get rid of JR Smith's contract, but they instantly save $11 million worth of cap space from making the trade. Lin is a good point guard to play around LeBron; having a star PG isn't always the best thing to have around a ball dominant superstar.... Lin is an efficient, above average starter.... similar level to guys like Derek Fisher and Steve Kerr (probably better than them). LeVert still has some upside and RHJ is at least a good wing defender off the bench. Booker is an expiring contract and will fit in nicely as the 6th man backing up Love and Thompson... the Cavs would still be one of the best teams in the East.

Regardless, I don't see it happening.

they need either win now players or a package centered around high lotto talent. the closest we have to high lotto talent is russell. we dont have really any win now guys.

russell/levert + pick(s) is probably all we can do, and still might need a third team to take our assets.

It's very rare that the teams a player is truly interested in playing for are made known to the media. It only happens for guys like Paul George, Dwight Howard and Melo (twice) who openly state their intentions/desires in the media and people can easily connect the dots.

This isn't to say that I don't believe that he wants those 4 teams only, but it's always a lot of hearsay to me. When any player requests out, NYK or LAL is always thrown in there just because.

I certainly think if the Nets were to come calling with offers, Kyrie would not hesitate in accepting a trade here. Having a strong desire to return to NJ along with the addition of Russell makes BK an attractive destination for him. They would be an amazing backcourt for years to come.

We just don't really have the assets and while this shouldn't stop them, Marks won't want to trade away more draft picks.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
