Yogi only stung for a week or two. Even knowing he went on to win all rookie 2nd team (which imo I don't think he should've) I would still cut Yogi. Yogi was atrocious here, and Dinwiddie is more valuable to the team moving forward because at 6'6 you could potentially slot him in anywhere 1-3. You got no choice but to play yogi at PG.

I agree I would choose Spencer' over Yogi - but given a choice I would have kept both and developed Yogi as trade asset. And this year Nets have that option with two way G League contracts.

Yogi was never going to be built into a trade asset though. He didn't go under the radar coming out of college, but he still went undrafted. Then he shot under 40% on FGA and under 30% on 3PA. He showed zero potential with the team. He literally played himself off of it. The only reason Dallas even signed him was because they had a PG emergency. They only gave him a 10 day too. That shows you how little value he had at the time of his release. If it weren't for Dallas, he would've been back in the DLeague. He showed absolutely zero promise.

I really don't expect much from yogi going forward either. He only has hype around him for dropping 30 pts on a 10 day contract. He didn't do much after his hot start. I think he'll be out of the league in 3 years.

I may be biased, I liked him a lot when he was on Nets last year. :)

Competition in training camp must be fierce today.

After media day, I am thinking DLo (for sure) and DMC (probably) start. So: JLin-DLo-AC-DMC-Moz
But then backups? LeVert-JAllen, and after that not sure. Between Skil/Din/RHJ/Booker/IW/Harris/Acy, really hard to predict.

I was reading the other site today stating 5 years Barclays center been up. What surprised me was the attendance during the first couple of years the team was competitive and also they have lost money but when I go to the games as a knick fans the seats seem to be full. I was expecting it to be higher. Also I have chatted with a few nets fans from hi once they moved to Brooklyn they seemed to have lost interest in the team.

MSG sells out every night because its MSG.

3 years or mediocre basketball doesn't establish a fan base. 2 years of horrific basketball doesn't help.

And water is wet.

Too bad we can't see Crabbe in the first preseason game due to his sprained ankle. My guess is that he's back by the start of the season but wished he could've gotten the time with the starting lineup. Skil and Whitehead get an opening.

You need to be skeptical about "losing money," especially when the team owner also owns the arena it plays in. Teams lease the arenas, so in the case of Prokhorov & other owners who own their arenas, it's akin to taking money out of his left pocket & placing it in his right pocket. They can also play financial games loading up the team with arena or other debt (e.g. arena construction debt, G-League team, New Training facility, etc.). I seem to remember that when rumors of Prokhorov selling a minority share first started popping up, the was an article that stated that the Nets had to "renegotiate" the lease or he'd have to sell equal shares of the team and arena, because the leasing terms were skewed so favorably towards the arena (started under Ratner).
