MGrand15 wrote:The team was very sharp yesterday. Ball movement, getting into sets quickly, everywhere on defense. My favorite thing about this team is that each time down the floor, there's 3-4 actions that could lead to scores. I hate when teams do nothing for 14 seconds, run one pick and roll and get forced into a bad shot. We have multiple actions Everytime down and Kenny gets mad when we don't get into them quickly.
Russell played well but he really needs to clean up the shot selection and careless passes. He got better in the 2nd half when he got rolling but he had a bunch of near turnovers that dont pop up in the stat sheet.
I've criticized RHJ's shot selection a lot in the last year but it looks like he gets it now. Passing out after offensive rebounds, driving and kicking, moving the ball quickly. If he plays like this, he doesn't need to shoot one 3pt shot all season. His defense has been phenomenal too.
If we're really bringing Crabbe and LeVert against 2nd units, they're going to do MAJOR damage. LeVert may be the best guard / wing on the team RIGHT NOW. Crabbe looked like this offense was perfect for him. Kenny finally found his Kyle Korver. The deep 3 he hit where his footwork was all wrong was ridiculous. You can tell this guy is just a shotmaker. The pressure he's going to put on the defense in our offense is gonna help us a lot.
I don't even want to think about minute distribution right now. DMC looks good enough for big minutes at the 3 and Acy has done enough in my mind to hold down the backup 4 spot. Dinwiddie looks good enough to be the full-time back up PG but Russell has to get reps there.

She's so lucky Nets aren't contending. That would've been grounds for termination. Figurative or literal termination? That's for the regulars here to decide.

“I thought we played well. I thought, as a team, we played well offensively and defensively,” Russell said. ”I think everybody was just trying to take pride into it — trying to play team defense and then, at the end of the day, still guard your man individually. So if we can sustain that, I think it will be good.
“Honestly, I feel like it’s easy to worry about offense; but with all this talent that we have, all these guys that are available to have the ability to score, if we all pride ourselves in stopping the Knicks guys, getting stops in each possession, the offense is going to come — and we flowed. Anybody is capable of putting up those numbers, so if that’s our main focus, we’ll be all right.”

This quote...Deron never used once.“I thought we played well.
