we developed a ton last year without winning. we need those guys to improve

its not just centers killing us. its 1 through 5. we need guys to get better defensively. not sit on the bench while some win now JAG comes in so we lose by 4 instead of 14

With allens development that comes.

And even our coach said we have to show improvement in the W column out of respect for ownership and fans.

Development comes in wins and losses. We need to see good losses too. These 120 point nights isn’t good. Period. We’re not beating anyone this way. No development is changing a roster issue.

It’s either we look into adding another big or we slow the pace down.

This isn’t going to be okay for long. Eventually, this is going to lead to a 150 night for an opponent and that is embarrassing. Nothing about that will help these kids get better. It will reinforce that this is “last year’s team” and these guys like Crabbe, Carroll, have insisted they want to change that. Morale plays a big picture in wins and losses. You can’t mess with that. That’s our effort and toughness that makes this culture work.

i think it will be fine for another 2 years. and id be extremely pissed if marks made some iditoic win now move that pushed back the development of these kids. nothing wrong with embarassment, those are teaching moments. if guys cant handle it then they arent the kind of players you want anyhow. you want guys who are galvanized, not ones who sulk.

wins are nearly 100% irrelevant at this point.

I don't mind taking L's as our guys level up, but giving up 150 points is not conducive to development. If we lose, it should be because of inexperience and the other team having better players, and not because of effort and guys playing soft. We can't have losses like the Knick game and consider that good for development.

It's still early though, so I don't see a reason for panic. If moves are to be made, i don't mind it being for frontcourt or PG depth as long as its within reason and doesn't disrupt the continued development of the young guys.

On another note, the effort that Mozgov has put forth has been nothing short of abysmal. We can't have vets on this team who play soft or with low effort, especially in a position of need. Carroll busts his ass. Booker, despite his defensive woes against the P n R, plays hard at all times.
