The point of trading for Kemba, if we want him, is that his cap hold will be much lower than what he'll get on the open market. If one of your "max targets" has only an $18mil hold, that is a very easy way to fit multiple maxes in.
I wouldn't want to go anywhere near Kemba at that kind of money, personally. Really at any realistic number for him. He's a really good player, but I'd rather just keep the in house rebuild going if a guy like Kyrie or Kawhi isn't coming here.
If not, wait til after the smoke of free agency clears and maybe make a move for a guy like McCollum.
I've been low key thinking about this too. I think McCollum would be a good trade target especially if things go south in Portland (i hear Dame is going to bolt).
