and people didn't want this guy here?

He’s a good locker room guy but let’s not act like there hasn’t been some valid reasons some were turned off.

Gobert hit the guy with an elbow while he was in the air that made him lose control and fall awkwardly so Dudley hit one of their guys an eye for an eye. Players should react this way instead of whining to the refs I don't have a problem with it he was sticking up for his teammate.

Yeah that Gobert elbow, thats a dirty ass play.

Now I'm even happier that he's on the team. That's exactly what needs to be done. Send a message, you want to hurt one of ours we'll kneecap you just the same.

Either, he really does well as a stretch 4 and is a 8th type, or hes a situational player. And he has one night where he plays 18 minutes and then is DNP-CD the next.

I really think the main reason they got him, is hes a slight upgrade from Arthur.

dudley weight is at 245 , he said he likes playing at 235 at a man who is 6 foot 7. i hope he comes into camp in shape. i can definitely see him being situational with faried ahead of him in rotation.

He's been a good addition to the starting lineup being vocal on defense and going over film with LeVert starts don't tell everything.

On RHJ's return and playing time:

“We’ll see. I like Jared with that unit,” Atkinson said. “Most of all, Jared Dudley, he moves it, he gets the ball cooking, and we need that with that first group. He’s important for that group right now, so we’ll probably keep it like that for now.”

LeVert watches some film with veteran forward Jared Dudley, who said LeVert has a “herky-jerky game” and invoked James Harden’s name as a comparison.

“His euro, his side-step, he takes a long step and it’s hard for the bigs to time it,” Dudley said. “He’s gonna be really unstoppable to guard. It’s gonna be nice to see him develop.”

I'd prefer to get RHJ in with the first unit as quickly as possible. No disrespect to Dudley.

Btw unless I'm mistaken out of the 5 starters Dudley is the only one who isn't a negative in on/off.

He has a high iq, talking on defense calling out opponents sets I've seen him give hard fouls, give it his all on the court. He admits he's not fast or athletic any more but he's been in the league for over a decade for a reason.

“Just being out there and being able to still be effective. Passing my knowledge on,” Dudley said. “It’s different when you’re playing because they can see someone who is 33, who might not have the skillset others have to be effective and do winning plays, that hopefully, they can take a little bit from me.”

He's helping LeVert grow and gives praise to others on the team what's there not to like?

Jarrett Allen, who Dudley called “ a cornerstone player” for the Nets earlier this off-season, emphasized the big man as the team’s anchor.

“He has to be the anchor for us. And because of that, we don’t switch a lot of pick-and-rolls sometimes. Sometimes, he’ll be back. So for him to average 1.8-to-2 blocks a game, I think he’s going to play enough minutes. I really think a double-double, and him slowly progressing whereby in January, February, his numbers are a lot better than they were in October, November
.”

“Spencer is a unique case. He could be our leading scorer even coming off the bench. He’s very explosive. I think for him, somewhere averaging around 15-16 points because we need him to, five or six assists, but I could see his percentages being more efficient. Getting to that free throw line. If he can shoot around 37 from 3, 45 from the field -- I want him to be a more efficient shooter.”

Dudley wants LeVert to continue that aggressive scoring but incorporate more outside shooting into his game.

“He has the most upside when it comes to just athleticism, how hard he plays. I think for him, being a 15-point scorer, also making that outside shot. I think for him, being a respectable outside shooter, if he can do that, his scoring will go up even more because he gets to the paint so easily.”
