I felt happy for Russell that he was the one that essentially hit the game winning shot. Good all around team effort. I’m not a Jared Dudley fan but he hit some timely shots. RHJ played some tough defense on LeBron and Harris hit some shots whenever the Lakers tried to make a run.

I'm sure a lot of teams are kicking themselves for not going after Harris sooner. With his pending FA, he was probably somewhat available around the deadline last year. The guy has turned into a really good player. 63 TS% on 10 shots a game. 45% from 3 on 5 attempts a game. Similar to what he did last season.

Super solid all around and consistent. Absolute steal at 8 mil a year.

I heard this last night too.

I'm telling yall last night, to me, was the first time ever where it felt like Barclays was the place to be at to watch the Nets play. Seeing all those celebs in attendance, King James in the house and the Nets giving the Lakers their money's worth, and how the place exploded when D'Angelo hit that shot. That was prime time big time action last night. I hope we get to see stuff like this again and again. This game is by far one of my favorite wins during the Marks/Kenny era.

I mean we had Jay-Z and Beyonce at games in the past but I get what you're saying

We actually do a good job of getting celebs to games(there is usually 1 or 2 of differing notoriety), especially against good teams. Once we start winning, games like last night will be the new normal.

The organic Brooklyn chants are the best AND loudest. I really wish they would stop forcing it over the speakers. I remember a few yrs back when we were a playoff team, a brooklyn chant started late in the 4th and kept going till the end and it seemed to affect the other team. It was glorious.

Wow, I'm so excited about this young team. Making the playoffs this year would be HUGE.

This is a challenging featt honestly. I've been in Barclays where the Lakers were playing against us and It's not a pretty sight. ITS FILLED with rowdy Lakers fans. Add Lebron to that factor, which I'm betting it's a lot worst. This victory is the biggest victory we've had in years considering all the factors of being in the big stage, big names, celebs, league wanting the lakers to win.

I'm just saying this is the type of win you'll find non-believers to doubt and get some respect towards the team.

The pop that happened when Russell hit that three drowned out the Lakers fans. I wish i could have watched that in Barclays, I would have lost my voice.

SpeedyG wrote:Yeah the 4th quarter execution was really bad (both by Russell and Spencer). Had it not been for Joe and Dudley moving without the ball. I'm still not sure how much I'm willing to commit to Russell because he looks GREAT when his shots are going down (and he's staying more consistent with this) but hot damn...34 minutes, 21 attempts, and zero free throws.

Who looks good when their missing shots? Russells shot was off a bit but he did other things like rack up a career high 13 assists and hit the game winner. thats about as good as you can look if your shot isnt falling.

He's always going to have these games but we badly need Caris to make that step and be our go-to guy. We simply can't rely on jump shots consistently to close out games.

Russell is scoring a ton in the paint. look at his shot chart this month. he does a ton of damage in the paint

its nice to hear the chamts and fans were in it the whole game but it was still a 50-50 nets/lakers crowd and the fans were cheering lonzos threes/dunk as much as any net plaly other then the russell game winner.

it iwll take time. but the roadmap is sound

Yeah, sometime last season I said that all this culture and development stuff is mostly wasted if guys don't take discounts to stay. Those two signings show that the players aren't kidding about loving it here. The culture is very real and it's bringing us tangible results already.

 yes, it was a totally different feel from those days back then. Spike was at Knicks v Nets last yr too iirc.

We really need to capitalize while the Knicks still suck. Making the playoffs with a bunch of young guns will really help with that.

We are already way ahead of their rebuild. No matter how much they want to downplay it and KP situation isn’t a walk in the park. There isn’t exactly a picture perfect relationship between KP’s people and Knicks FO.

I think we need to focus on ourselves because once we legitimately build a long term contender that can legitimately compete against Philly, Milwaukee, Boston for years to come...I assure you that you will wish the Nets were under the radar again with a less annoying new fans. You’ll see more media knee jerking about Kenny’s job, can we win shooting threes?, etc.

As I predicted, the PP/KG narrative ended the season we own our picks. No coincidence there.
