It's because of our owners deep pockets. We basically gave free money to Dwight (to get rid of him) and Faried (to do him a solid)DeRoma wrote:We are acting like a baseball farm system. We now go into the summer with:
1. ‘19 Nets 1st
2. ‘19 DEN 1st
3. ‘19 NYK 2nd
4. 19’ IND 2nd
5. ‘20 Nets 1st
6. ‘20 DEN 2nd
7. ’21 Nets 1st
8. ‘21 PHX 2nd
9. ‘21 TOR 2nd
Fun Fact: The Nets still own MIL/SAC 2nd via Jason Kidd trade but it won’t convey.
A window of 6-8 picks including our own firsts that could be used in a multitude of ways along with small salary assets like Napier, Musa that could be used in future deals this summer.
This is how you build assets for a massive blockbuster down the road.

If they waive him, they still pay luxury tax on his salary. By trading him, he's off their cap. It cost us about $700k. They netted about $2.5mil.

I knew there must have been something. That makes sense.
