Kenny knows PGs, so maybe he sees something.

Anyone taken at 56 is just a summer league / G League guy. Has nothing to do with the real roster.

wasn't trying to be that guy but I swear I thought Mikki Moore when I first saw him...

I'm not bagging the guy. His highlights alone have him way better than Moore already. I was just having a joke. :D

Collins will be a multiple time allstar, but can he play centre? If Hunter and Collins are both PF only, that’s a problem.

At 6’10, 235 pounds can Collins play centre? If not how do you get all these guys minutes. Love the talent, not sure on the fit.

I love this trade for Minnesota if they make the right pick. I don't know who the right pick is this year, but they have a history of botching picks in the mid-lottery.

The 11 is often a solid pick as well and I like Saric, but I feel like they could have done better.

How weird is it that the 3 teams who all want DLo have been trading with each other all day today?

I said to you in another thread that I keep reading Suns are not in on DLo at all.

I actually like Saric thought that was good value to move down.

From stuff out there, it feels cryptically like they will be in on DLo, especially if he's renounced.

I also like Saric a solid amount.

Hunter can play small forward. He's more of a 3 then a 4 so Hawks are set.

Claxton is our Siakam pick, he will spend the next year in the D league, he might spend the 2nd year there as well and win the D league MVP like Siakam, then become our 2nd or 3rd best player by his 3rd year, optimistic. He's not only a rim protector like Allen, he can dribble and shoot the ball. I like this pick.

-Really sad we didnt get the belmont kid who went #26 but we traded the pick anyhow so it wasnt stolen right before us.

-Trading the #27 for a future first was a great move. even if we didnt need cap. if you look back in the ohter draft thread id been saying all along thats the move. #27 is a glorified center. having a "future first" to throw in trades has more value. especially when we had #31 anyhow.

-All the people upset or clamoring for bol bol need to step back and realize the guy isnt a great prospect. he will block shots but he was a putrid defender this year. and there is probably a 50/50 chance he misses huge potionts of seasons with foot or lower half injuries. good offensive game, fun guy to follow for sure... but i had said early on im not using a first on him. but he was never a fit here because despite his offensive arsenal he does set picks and thats enormous for our offense not just in the pick and roll but to get our shooters free

We clear an extra 2 mil in cap, we drafted a big with upside that we can develop in long island, and we get back into the 1st round of the 2020 draft, replenishing our lost pick in the Crabbe salary dump. This has been an excellent night for the Nets even if it's not flashy.

Boom. I have to say how much you guys have developed your thinking over the years. Back in the day I recall how upset a lot of guys would get at the idea of trading down or out of a draft. I used to say to VC4P that picks on draft night are unwrapped Christmas presents. They look so great under the tree. It could be that new game you really wanted. But most of the time you unwrap them and you get socks lol.

We made big picture moves tonight and I am glad to see so many guys who have been here for a long time embrace that.

Yeah I think if this was 10 years ago I'd probably have a different reaction to last night.

Also, it helps to have a good front office in place where we have watched a series of calculated steps taken in four straight drafts now. I have yet to see Marks walk away from a draft night without significantly putting this team in a better position than it was the night before:

Year 1: Trades Thad Young, drafts Caris LeVert w/ Indiana's 1st rounder.

Year 2: Trades Bojan, drafts Jarrett Allen w/ WAS 1st. Trades for D'Angelo Russell w/ Nets' additional 1st rd pick and Brook Lopez.

Year 3: Uses 1st round pick acquired in a trade w/ Toronto to draft Musa, uses 2nd rder to draft Kurucs (who outperformed his draft position).

Year 4: Gets the Nets back into the 2020 draft and nullifying any negative effect from having to use our 2020 1st rder to get Crabbe off of the books, clears additional cap room in a critical free agency period, drafts a big with multiple tools that can be developed on the back end for six figures.

Keep in mind, in Years 1 and 3 the Nets did not have their own draft pick either. This is masterful to watch unfold in real time, and none of this mentions the shrewd salary dump moves involving Dwight Howard's contract, Kenneth Faried for DEN 1st, etc.
